Selections Committee Can Never Drop Sachin and Dravid as they hold better records and high reputations. Only Choice is Laxman … They cant even touch Sewag,Gambir or Dhoni even they are not performing... Poor VVS…

Only we are seeing records and not victory. If Sachin hits another 100, he will make a record. But another milestone will come if he plays another 8 years. That is he will be representing the country even after 42. The current record hold by an English man for 41 years plus few months. ARE YOU READY to retain Sachin for that also.

SACK SACHIN, DRAVID, LAXMAN and give chances to youngsters. Dhoni need break from Captancy as he is well fit for one day and T20.

Drop seniors
by Impartial on Jan 16, 2012 10:00 PM  | Hide replies

Seems BCCI will not learn. Kapil Dev, even though well past his prime was given a long leash towards the end of his career only to enable him to break Hadlee's record of wickets. As a result Javagal Srinath's entry was delayed. The same mistake is being committed now by waiting for Sachin's 100th century instead of giving chances to players like Mukund, Rahane, Kohli and Vijay. Sachin' along with Dravid and Laxman should go.

impartial stick to your name.

Sachin may be past his prime but still playing better than most players not just in india but even in the world last 1-2-3 years.
He is top run getter for India at the moment.
Does it make sense to drop your top most player???

Why only Laxman, what about Sehwag, Gambhir. How does Sehwag come into play as captain for the last test match when he has not even done justice to his ability. Sehwag & Gambhir should be dropped for at least for some time but the Indian selectors have no courage to do so!! Do they have?

BCCI was forced to retain the seniors
by JUSTIN JAMES on Jan 16, 2012 05:24 PM  | Hide replies

These senior players were retained only because there is no substitute for these...no body could replace them and there is no young players who can fit in to their shoes...youngsters hadnt utilized the opportunities unlike the seniors did in the beginning of the careers....now one thing is clear...this series is the death knell of test cricket in India...

Its a bad theory that we are forced to retain seniors. 161 all out is something which new guys can achieve too. At least we are investing on their experience rather hopping for a great show from seniors. My list of seniors includes Sehwag too.

justin and nair senior players do have substitutes and they have performed as well as the senior players uptil now...

compare murali vijay's record after 12 tests 20 innings it is identical to sachin record after sachin's first 13 tests and 20 innings...

so it can be safely said that murali vijay is as good as sachin or sachin is as bad as murali vijay considering their stats at the start of the their respective careers after 12-13 tests and 20 innings...

same with laxman and raina and kohli... raina and kohli have performed as well or as bad as laxman did after laxman's first couple of years in test cricket...
check laxman and raina and kohli performance in their first couple of years..they are identical...
how can one show better stats if they do not get a chance to do so?

same is the case with ganguly record and dhoni record as a captain and batting performance during their captaincy...dhoni certainly has a better captaincy record with 4 test wins against aus similarly he has won tests against SA, NZ, WI, BD, SL etc. dhoni has so far won only 1 test against bd and zimbabwe because he has not really played against them much as a captain only a couple of tests against bd and no tests uptil now against zim. whereas about 40% of ganguly's test wins have come against zim and BD against whom he has won about 9-10 tests out of his total test wins...

similarly their batting performances under their own captaincy and their contribution in tests won by india are also identical.

India was never whitewashed under Ganguly anywhere in the World. Under Dhoni India has been already whitewashed in England, and is in serious danger of another now against Australia.

it can be safely considered you lack analytical abilities
-
do you know most of the tests initially sachin played abroad?
Do you know during that phase he vased tests for india? against england
- do you know the kind of bowlers he was facing in that era?
- do you know the kind of promise/potential he showed?
- do you know most pandits in the world after watchin him then said he seems to be the best batsman india has produced?

....can you say anything simiar abt Vijay?

murli vijay was given such an extended run , despite failing in different formats only becasue of srikanth

see i only want to say that even senior's performance was similar to what these newcomers performances is...so some of these new players are going to take the place of seniors...

when seniors were juninors at their time also they were compared to gavaskar, amarnath, vishwananth, vengsarkar and asked the same questions as you are asking now...

We shouldn't change for the better..we should CHANGE FOR 'BEST'
by Vijay Michel on Jan 16, 2012 05:23 PM

) Selectors have been asked questions to phase out these cricketers which Includes, Laxman, Dravid and Shewag... is there anyone ready to stake the claim and cement their place in the current slot... I have been hearing people like Kaif,Yuvraj,Murali Vijay, Tiwari,Rahane etc etc Are they ready ????
atleast we are lossing the series abroad.. if all of them are replaced at once.. we might loose series at home too...

1) Why Sachin credibility is not questioned when he hasn't scored a century for almost an year now, going by his stature of greatness it is still considered a average performace by the little man. has no one got the courage to ask for his head ????

2) Why Dravid is been asked to go.. ??? Considering He is the only one who has been performing abroad consistently.. As for the age factor.. I dont belive in it. Age is not factor when players have to facilities to look after themselves with effective workouts, power yoga, medicnes, fitnees experts guiding them etc etc... I dont see DRAVID's FAT BELLY SAGING where he cant run around compared to most of the players who FAT BELLY is VISIBLE.. Example : SHEWAG,SO CALLED GREAT TENDULKAR,DHONI,YUVRAJ,ZAHEER.. Are thse fit cricketers.. ???
KALLIS is the best Example of a cricketer for whom AGE IS JUST A NUMBER ......

I agree dravid needs to be phased out slowly. Not immediately..

3) Shewag and Laxman..Yes..Only if we have young blood to stake their claim..Otherwise we wont be able to score even 100 runs collectively abroad.

Evening there was a debate on CNN IBN channel. Kumble, Maninder and Manjrekar were present with Gaurav Kalra...Kumle made a good point there...In Kumble's words .."When Dravid, Saurav got an opportunity in 1996 and Laxman in 1997, they made full use of it by scoring big runs consistently...For the last three years no youngster had performed well to get noticed...Raina, Yuvraj, Mukund, Vijay, Kohli all got enough opportunities to prove themselves but did nothing ". Kumble was speaking truth while maninder and Manjrekar were not behaving like men with inadequate knowledge about Test cricket...

Kumble is a true gentleman has played long enough to say that. age is no matter for performance. While Majrekar is a big loser. Does anyone remember manjrekar as a batsmen? None. he is rememberd as the most consistently jealous Commentrator who dreamt big but did not have talent to make it big
