Need some changes

I feel Robin Uttappa & Ashok Dinda should have been selected in place of Sachin & Zaheer in the squad.

ODI team should be able to manage without Sachin & his services are essential in tests since our young batsman are still finding their feet in test matches.Sachin is not going to play 2015 World Cup, it is time to invest in other players at least in ODIs. His 100th hundred can wait till India plays next test series. With Robin's hitting capabilities, he should be nurtured&persisted since he can keep wickets too.

We all know about Zaheer's fitness and im sure he will break down after he plays this ODI series. His presence in test matches are essential with India needing 20 wickets to win test matches and we cant afford another break down in middle of test series. Ashok has done far better than Irfan & other bowlers in Ranji trophy this year and definitely needs a look in soon.

Parthiv, i agree is committed and gritty player one can get but he needs to score big runs quickly.

I live in Australia and I can admit Vinay Kumar was not bowling well. There was absolutely no pace in his bowling. I guess he was purely selected because of politics!

Introduce Youngsters

BCCI should now give chance to new players for test cricket. In both the series against Eng and Aus, their new players casued major damage. Dravid, Laxman are great but there is no point holding their hand for so long. We have enough talented players who can take their place in a year or so.

Permanent solution for all temporary problems
by Mohan Rao on Jan 16, 2012 01:34 AM  | Hide replies

Here are the BCCIs immediate permanent solutions for temporary problems faced by Indian Team:
1. Ban all the foreign tours of India, if a minimum number are to be played as mandated by ICC, then India should go to only Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, WI and play all the matches with them only
2. Ban the test series format because India is not winning. I challenge this, see after 3-4 years BCCI gradually convinces/influences ICC at least to reduce number of test matches played.
3. As an immediate ointment to sentiments of foolish India crowd that are apparently hurt by this tour, organize a foreign tour with BD/Zim/WI and if by chance they are winning the matches, bribe them to loose.
4. Put restrictions on fast bowling, no bowler would be allowed to bowl running. They should stand where they are, just before the crease and throw the ball just like in base ball. This is because Indian batsman cannot face fast bowing.
5. If rule 4 fails, I mean if still some innovative foreigner bowls a speed ball by increased rotation of their arm, put a restriction on the number of rotations of hand the bowler makes before delivering the ball.(Arm rotation like one shown in movie Lagaan).

Contd.....

6. Allow the batsman to increase the width of the bat 3 times, so that they can stand covering all the wickets with their back towards wickets and hit the ball easily.
7. Increase the number of runs scored by batsman like 8, 10, 12, 14 depending upon the number of yards the ball falls away from boundary line. This way, they can keep Indian mad crowds busy with calculating the records broken. After all this is what they want.
8. Buy ICC in an auction just like the way they are buying IPL teams so that they can easily change rules if all of the above fails.
9. Reduce the number of one day matches played as India will not be winning any big tournaments out side India.
10. Make sure that Indian crowds who have a very short memory satisfied with huge scores in IPL so that they can maintain a well-established cash-flow for the years to come.

he should announce his retirement and try to get his 100th ton before he retires, rather than continue to play till he gets the 100 and then retire.

We all know what he is/will do!

First Tendulkar has to wish well for Indian cricket by retiring and allowing another fitter batsman to serve Indian cricket. I know he will score another hundred because selectors will keep giving him chance even if it takes 20 more innings for him.

absolutely - he plays for his records unlike Ponting whose innings throughout his career have been either match winning or match saving.

All channels are raving for VVS laxman and Rahul to retire but no mention about Tendulkar who has equally failed. Since he is the protege of the BCCI boss, nobody speaks about him.

:-)... nice joke!! :)

I'm sure you will crack the same joke on Umesh Yadav's excellent bowling at MCG and Perth too.... though it will be as much in poor taste as anything else you've said...
FYI, Ponting should have been kicked out an year back according to YOUR brilliant logic.. :)

Yes u develpo positive thinking dear..Former players call for Dravid's head despite being called Player of the year with 6 centuries and SAchin having scored only 1 century..now Dravid fails in 3 matches and they say Dravid must retire? doesn make sense
