You guys will forever ignore the Contributions of RD and VVS, but we are expected to always see thePastPerformances of youGreatGod SRT. Wonder when we will be spared theHorror of seeing that OldMan on field all the time in everyFormat. Time theBCCI bid himAdieu. If not, he'll keep playing even till he is 50 and you'll see the GreedyOldCoot pad up with hisSon as well, who I am sure will be anotherGreatIndividualPlayer in theFootsteps of hisFather, with the only reason for his being in the team being hisFather

His fans keep saying how many runs he has scored in Tests in Australia. But the fact of the matter is that these have come in one-sided defeats or in draws on flat pitches. Whereas RD and VVS have scored many runs as matchwinning in Aus. That's the difference. I would any day rate RD and VVS as the match winners more than record accumulator Sachin. He has natural talent, I do not deny bu what's the use when we cannot play when the situation demands.

You fools. Even now, the highest scorer in this series is Sachin. Once these greats go away, we would be easily beaten by teams like Bangladesh, Zim etc. So, first get rid of Dhoni, Shewag, Vinay Kumar (Please)etc.

Fure Fletcher, Srikkanth and Dhoni ...
by Arv Singh on Jan 16, 2012 08:31 AM  | Hide replies

Two players who contributed to taking India to number 1 position are left out because of politics. Harbhajan with over 400 wickets is the highest wicket taking bowler in India but he is not selected. Why? Now don't tell me that he was not selected because of his performance in England. This argument does not work as the Laxman, Sehwag, and Dravid flop show goes on forever. His replacements have been below mediocre, all club level players at best. Ricky Ponting was called Harbhajan's bunny and Aussies would have found him hard to handle. So why is he not in the team?

Yuvraj has never been given a longer run in the team as if someone is waiting for him to fail once and take him out of team. Who can forget his 6 sixes against Stuart Broad. Its the same Broad who troubled the famed Indian batting line-up in summer. So why is Yuvraj not in the team? Oh, I forgot, poor guy has been diagnosed with lung tumor. I hope he recovers well and plays for India once again. Amazing, how Indian selectors can leave out the "Man of the Series" in WC2011 who has been "Man of the Series" seven times ... yes seven times in ODI Series. But he does not find place in the team. The wonders of Indian politics , I guess.

No wonder, Indians folds up like a spineless team when ever playing outside India. WI and England in 2011, and now Australia.

Fire Duncan Fletcher, the flop coach!
Fire K Srikkanth for his biased selections!
Fire Dhoni for uninspired leadership!

I think you didn't read the article entirely, Harbajan Singh is injured. Yuvraj still to regain full fitness. I would have loved to see both in the team, provided they are fully fit

If you are such a big fan of Yuvi then you shuld have known that he's under rehabilitation! Harbhajan, check out his performance in the last 2 years and you'll find out why he's out from the team?

If anyone is thinking of dropping Sachin, he/they must first achieve more than what Sachin achieved and then drop. Until then, as long as Sachin makes himself available for any team, Sachin is an automatic selection.

If you don't like it, take your toys and play at home.

That does not make any sense. The selectors' job is to ensure that only performers are allowed to play, which Sachin is not by any standards. And hell no, Sachin is not an automatic selection, nobody is, because no individual is bigger than the team. This boot licking has to stop, it is time somebody showed him the door very politely.

he's the top run getter for Inida in this series and yet he should be shoen the door? really? Boss, you can become such a brilliant administrator! If performance is the criteria then Sachin will be the last to be shown the door, mind it! and if not, the "Take your toys and play at home".

If any batsmen have looked really in touch on this tour then it's Sachin followed by Ashwin and in last test Kohli!if you can't respect his achievements then at least , you can (Sachin basher) shut your mouth off!

by ramana murty on Jan 16, 2012 07:14 AM

two months back when test team announced i mentioned in this forum that yuvi will not b fit (or act as if he is not fit) till australian tour is over.now see wat happend? such timid players should not be taken into team straightaway evenif they r fit.they should be asked to play ranji for same period for which he is injured. how a player can b fit for a series at home and not fit when he has to play in tough conditions.Pure drama

Need some changes

I feel Robin Uttappa & Ashok Dinda should have been selected in place of Sachin & Zaheer in the squad.

ODI team should be able to manage without Sachin & his services are essential in tests since our young batsman are still finding their feet in test matches.Sachin is not going to play 2015 World Cup, it is time to invest in other players at least in ODIs. His 100th hundred can wait till India plays next test series. With Robin's hitting capabilities, he should be nurtured&persisted since he can keep wickets too.

We all know about Zaheer's fitness and im sure he will break down after he plays this ODI series. His presence in test matches are essential with India needing 20 wickets to win test matches and we cant afford another break down in middle of test series. Ashok has done far better than Irfan & other bowlers in Ranji trophy this year and definitely needs a look in soon.

Parthiv, i agree is committed and gritty player one can get but he needs to score big runs quickly.

Ashok bowled really well even on flat pitches this year. It's a shame that he is not in the Indian team. Regional quota system of selection at it's worst. Sack the chairman of selectors.

Pravin,so u want zaheer to continue till he reaches 50,because according to u zaheer is must for taking 20 Wickets. after 50 can he use Wheelchair for Bowling???Regarding Parthiv inclusion even a layman can tell that there is some behind the scene stuff going on.Even the cricket Bat is bigger than him and this guy is representing 1.21 billions!
