dhoni as a captain
by kaala bandhar on Jan 15, 2012 03:22 PM  | Hide replies

there are several factors to be looked in before one can be called as the most successful captain.its just not the victories alone or the success% a cricket captain has.One shd also see the era at which hes captaining.Dhoni has performed well as captain and one cannot take away the credit from him but on the overseas fron he falls under the same category as any other indian captain to win overseas frequently.hes has captained an indian team during post invicible period of aussies and a SA team which has nt been the same as it used to during aussies invincible period.but its doesnt mean one can take away the credit of dhonis captaincy.the winning % of other teams also have increased post aussies invincible period.yes dhonis to his creidt has t20 and wc triumph under his credit.the number of drawn test macthes also have reduced in recent times where most of the test matches produce results which also makes his winning % more.May be one has to wait and see after dratsic changes are made into the indian team and how dhoni takes it fwd from there.just like wat clarke has bee doing for aus by leading from the front during new aus team.Dhoni can stil lconitnue as a captain with young lads in the team and and see hw he grooms them which wd reflect his real capabality as a leader.Lets wait and watch wat the selectors have to say.

Bishan Singh Bedi won 2 test in 1977 tour of Australia and lost 3, then Gawaskar lost 2 and won 1 in 1981 then Kapil Managed to draw all 3 in 1984 then 2003 Saurabh Da won 1 and lost 1 then Anil Kumbale won 1 and lost 2 in 2008 now dhoni lost 3 just like sachin?

everything was honeymoon in india for dhoni..until he steeped out of subcontinent...
tests are true exams of your technique....patience....big 3...should have performed....but u need 2 see...they are out of team much of time....its tough to put shoes on after long intervels....so either drom them or evaluate their perfprmance after evry while...honey moon is over now..tough times start

Playing to Philosophizing

When success comes suddenly
without a warning, without any
hard work, then the individual
start to bank on the same lucky
stars for success than any hard
work or effort,

Dhoni was a lucky charm and he
did not know what put him on the
pedestal then and he does not know
what toppled him from it too.

He is more fit to be a philosopher now
than any player who is out there to win.
He displays indifference on the field so
that the blame cane go to his state of
mind than his original ability of playing
the game.

Thats why collectively all players dont
make efforts, because it would be a shame
to fail after all the efforts than to just show
that they are not in the mood to play
"though they are great players".

Human mind works in funny ways.
Especially that of Indians.

But as much as he looked cool
with success, he may still remain
cool with the failures too, and look
for the next best opportunity to
quit than prove a point.

His lot is about staying cool
than winning or losing it seems.

He may already be preparing to
disappear in to oblivion than
fight till the finish like his senior
SRT.

Face the facts

Without estimating our own capability we underestimated Aus capability at their derf and we went with the assumption of sweeping Aus aside

Last tour of aus was good as our seniors were at their prime but not anymore, but aus seniors were declining at that time..

Our aging seniors out of touch & occupying the prime team positions and depriving others great opportunity likes of Rohit..Any way he wouldnt have salvaged anything though

our country obsessed with sachins 100 over team's win..how cheap we are..:(

-bouncing and swinging wickets are not our cup of tea..
- IPL is ruining players capability to play lonng innings
