With this ban-Dhoni plan to get himself out by slow over run rate,so he is out from the embarassement of of clean white wash from Aussies- as a captain.

slow over-rate

I think the suspension of Dhoni forone test is absurd.Whether the slow over rate affected the Aussies is more pertinent? It did not, so the penalty is unnecessary. The slow over rate penalty may be implemented if, the slow over rate affects the opponents and denies them a chance to win.

let him enjoy karting.he is not fit for test matches.let saha can get a oppurtunity.dhoni's absence won't make a difference.i want the team to play with rohit and rahane in laxman and dravid's position.

The best thing that could have happened is this ban.Now if some other law is found which does not allow him entry into Test cricket...

Yes. He does not!! What is 7 defeats in 7 tests? Nothing important as long as he wins IPL and silly 20-20 circus matches. After all he wins matches in India!!

I can't tolerate his pathetic batting for even one more test match.

Don't you see batting on bouncy pitches is a different cup of tea. Hitting a six on Indian pitch is easier because bowlers are comparatively harmless. I don't deny it was a great innings to win us the cup and his record in ODIs on sub-continent pitches is very good. But he won't succeed in the coming tri-series. That's a guarantee.

Bring back Harbhajan Singh asap....
by Adaksh AA on Jan 15, 2012 09:40 PM

Mr Srikanth... the biggest mistake you and ur team did is to have excluded Bhajji from the team....

The only fighter in the team....Bhajji has always been a threat to every opposition esp. the Aussies... Then basis 1 test series performance...why did you guys devastate the career of a great bowlerlike Bhajji who is just 30 and has taken >400 wickets and is considered as one of the best off spinners in the world by all sane cricketers around the world!!!

Is it so important to bring mediocre player like Ashwin in place of Bhajji??? Is Regional favourism so important????

Without players like Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh...the team looks so dull and weak!!!!

Common chikka reinstate Bhajji and Yuvi asap...

Ever since his marriage

Dhoni has lost his mojo since getting married.
Behind every unsuccessful man, there is a woman.
(with apologies to Mrs Dhoni)

Looks like everyone (SELECTORS & PLAYERS) is under influence!!
This happens when there is too much MONEY in the offing and there is no SELF DICIPLINE.
The question also lies One Day vs. Long format (Test matches). Requires a total different mind set.
There must be a major shake-up from TOP to BOTTOM (Selectors & Players). People who can add value selflessly must qualify.
Let’s throw out the old player. They have lost their self esteem and do not know when to retire gracefully. It’s about time to show them the door UNFORTUNATELY. They are seat warmers in the team and earning big money for themselves without delivering any goods. What a SHAME. Do not know how a country of 1 Billion can tolerate that????
It’s too much MONEY….MONEY….with no SELF DICIPLINE and DEDICATION.

I dont think it is the money. The injuries being hidden is definitely a case of money. But this is a case of short sightedness by BCCI. Lots of money in hand, hardly any plans for future. Cash cow being milked to a point of burn out. Now they need scapegoats just like indian public and they will find it. Lynch mob baby lynch mob.

still a poor country....
by Saurabh Mishra on Jan 15, 2012 09:02 PM

we have not yet gained wealth as a nation and the same applies to all of us and our cricketers too. time and again our loyalties and wisdom gives way to earnong money. everyone of us is hungry for more. same applies to all sportsmen. we jokingly tell our chindren that play good cricket...u will get selected for IPL. you will get fame and money. As a nation we have to inculcate the pride of being an Indian first. Not saying that we dont have it, but you and me...we all need to do more.Lets not run after swanky cars,houses,clothes..etc. but lets pledge that we will do well in life as well as do something for our nation as well....applies to all fo us
