Rediff team, you can ask our opinion. But its a debate forum among the followers of Team India and no one in BCCI will listen. Why should we waste our time, right.
It was not Dhoni who gave us WC 2011,it was team effort and most credit goes to Sachin and Yuvi,Dhoni has struggled that series as well except the final knock.Now if he performs in his batting and keeping he wll be there in team otherwise he has to step down.He always plays his favorite players (Ashwin) who is not a quality bowler like Bhaji or Ojha,Now if he performs he stays in Team or IPL is there for him and which actually suits his style and technique.
I strongly suggets to sack Dhoni since his own performance with teh bat or behind the wickets doesn't command a place in the playing 11, if he wouldn't have been the captain. Further, his defensive mindset & abysmal batting perfomance doesn't give any confidence or hope to win test overseas...
Why blame captain whenever team fails.It is the team game.captain can only guide and frame a strategy and rest depends on individual contribution.failure was mainly because of seniour players like Tendulkar,Laxman,Dravid who fails to make a big score.Bowling front is weak except for Zaheer khan.If top order batting was good enough to bat for a day or two ,both the match could be drawn atleat,if not win.by the by if Dhoni is not fit for test captain,who is the alternative

So u mean captain need not play, he can only guide? I dont think coach or senior players set such defensive fields which help opposition in scoring. By the way, when praising Dhoni dont u people feel it is a team game and not only Dhoni is to be praised?

pls dont speak about sachin always. he is the one who batted well in most of the innings. Additionally Selectors keep Sachin in both ODI and Test teams because of his fitness.
I agree in blaming Laxman and Dravid because they are taken only in Test matches. Atleast they should score some good runs so that team manages to draw even in critical situations.
And we should ask Gambhir 1st to take a rest for a while, wait till he comes back to form. His batting is the worst considering the past few matches.
Dhoni is not suitable to captain in tests. But where is the alternative. Sehwag has to keep his place first. He throws his wicket telling that is his style of batting. Gambhir is not consistant may not be permanent in the team then who else. Thats why Dhoni remains
