Dont run behind media.
by jinson chacko on Jan 10, 2012 08:06 AM

please dont listen to what media has to say about dhoni going. They are not interested in success of countryIndia let alone cricket team India. All they need is some sensationalism. coming to cricket, I dont see any reason for Dhoni to Go. Before DHoni it was Indian team and After Dhoni its Team India. We had been united and were able to cross many hurdles including 2 worldcups and many successes. The current downslide has got nothing to do with Dhoni or his batting performance but BCCI. If any one is responsible it has to be the Board. Dhoni must be the captain for another 5 years until such time that kohli is matured enough to take over. SRT, RD and VVS would retire in 2-3 yrs and we need dhoni to lead the young bunch till kohli take the mantle.

Then who is the next one?

If everyone wish to sack Dhoni as captain is granted then who will be the new captain?

Gambhir - Big no, he still have a lot to prove in overseas test. Also was in the verge of being dropped for next test if not for his 2nd inngs score.
Shewag - May be yes.

I don't see any other choice.

Dhoni should go. Make Virendra Sehwag the captain. Actually Dhoni should be out of the test team. Just for the leadership skill one can't be granted a space in the test team.

I agree. Dhoni is an unfit for Test Match. We hv unfortunately no alternate player to take over. Why not we consider Dravid for interim, and groom an youngster like Rohit, Badri, Chateswar.

Exits from test match are for Gambiur, Raina, Yuvraj, Virat. All the above are Just one day frmat playerrs.
Sehwag how long we wl live with., Such an unpredictable player for Test match.

new lesson
by Sarat Chopra on Jan 10, 2012 07:45 AM  | Hide replies

It is strange that after having two humiliating defeats they have decided to be away from cricket. It is a new learning for those who fail in their exams while studying then instead of burning mid night oil for the future exams they should prefer to spend time in listening music, watching movies and even going to night clubs. They should not take future exams seriously and unnecessery tax their minds. This is a new medicine given to us by Dhoni and his company. Yes|one player must not indulge in these things i.e. Sachin. He must deveote all remaining time before the 3rd test in just keeping his mind in watching cricket dvds or books related to cricket. What an idea? Do not be surprised if they have another innining defeat in the forthcoming matches. Australians are studying hard to know their weakenesses. I donot know why they are wasting time. It is a well known weakenss. First take them away from Indian Piches-bowl them chest high. Do not take any spinner in your playing 11.

What work you are talking about. Coming two weeks early and playing only 4 out of 5 days in both test matches. So surely they got more rest than they deserved. one more thing. if you are failing you need to work harder and not relax more. Old saying is still valid.

Dhoni Captaincy
by ramanarayanan sambamurthy on Jan 10, 2012 07:30 AM  | Hide replies

It is premature to giving up the Captaincy of MS Dhoni. Everytime we will win and others will always cannot be the philosophy of Cricket. Over the years, we have improved a lot. If Dhoni leaves the Captaincy, others will bring win cannot be guaranteed. We have registered a number of wins and let us also accept defeats in the natural way. We should analyse our mistakes and rectify the same to avoid recurrence in the coming tests and it is not correct to argue on the captaincy.

Victory on the dust bowls are great. but don't claim that our team is no. 1 if they can't even win a single test on foreign pitches. Dhoni should go and make space for someone else. his batting is mediocare outside india.

Dhoni Should give up his 20-20 captiancy and concentrate on ODI and TEST matches and let someone who is young like Virat or Suresh or Rohit take over.

Better idea is to give up test captaincy and focus on T20 ODI. His techniques suit those games more than tests.

Dhoni Should Give up captaincy. He should remember that he is doing a public service.BY consecutive failing for SIX TIMES ANY PERSON IN PUBLIC SERVICE WOULD HAVE BEEN AXED. WHY NOT DHONI. He has ammassed a large sum of money(dhon). He is more busy caring his dhon than cricket. His head has gone to his dhon.

Dhoni's performance and experience not to be counted for Test. There are Seniors like Rahul, Laxman and Sehwag available to be handled better than Dhoni. Winning a T-20 and ODI is not criterian for Test Captaincy.

winning a T-20 and ODI may not be a criterian for Test Captaincy.

But dont forgot that we became no. 1 in Tests when Dhoni was captain (of course it was also because of our showing in the last few years under Ganguly, Dravid and Kumble) and we maintained that position under dhoni captincy for 2 years even though when he did not always have first choice players and even though our bowlers were new and inexperienced (with the exception of zaheer and bhajji. Kumble never played any test under dhoni captaincy)

So it is not as if dhoni's captaincy record in tests is bad. We did win test series in BD, WI, SL and NZ and drew in SA. Yes we failed in tests in england but everybody knows that neally all our players were tired mentally and physically because of too much cricket. and also a few got injured while the test was going on and so our team became more unbalanced...

Dhoni has become "Arrogant" & "Powerful"
by Rakesh nair on Jan 10, 2012 06:22 AM

Individual Players are "Enjoying" with there "GFS"/"Wives" in Australia.
These players are Chosen few frm 1.2Billion people & should serve the nation ,not njoy "Life".
All the players are "Earning Crores" to play for the nation & at the end of the day atleast "effort" has to be there.
We all Like "DHONIS" Confidence but now he has become "Arrogant" & feels nobody can replace him.
"Dhoni" should be Immediately "Dropped" from Test Squad.
Give Captaincy to "Sachin" as he will only "Retire" id "Kallis" & "Pointing" retire & just Read "news" that "Kallis" is gng to play 2015.

by Gurjot Singh on Jan 10, 2012 06:19 AM  | Hide replies

He is the best captain India ever had. He has taken to the mountain top in all froms of the game -- test, ODI and T20. England loss should be discounted as Dhoni gave a befitting reply when England visited India. We still can level the series given the proress India made in the 2nd innings in Sydney. VVS and Gambir ar eback in form. With decent score from Sachin and Dravid, idia can score 400 plus. Also, do not forget that if Australia had batted first at Sydney, we would have won.

Aus were 35/3 and instead of going for the kill, he set a defensive field allowing Aussies to score 600 . In Melbourne, Aus were 27/4, same defensive field placement allowed Aus to score 240, South Africa were 98/5 in Capetown, same defensive field helped SA to score 341!

Jiju, the choice to bat first after winning the toss was not wrong. it was a good pitch and we should have scored well but we did not. it had nothing to do with the pitch conditions only our batting failure is to be blamed....

Jiju, that target in wi may LOOK easy but was NOT, as even dravid had said that it was very difficult to score fast and after so many wickets fell it was better that we gave up the chase. as they say discretion is the better part of the valour....and discretion does not necessarily mean getting defensive...it only means being wise...

Jiju, many teams have gone to score big even when there top wickets fell cheaply. so every captain must resign as soon as such a thing happens. waugh could have resigned when india after following on were down in dumps and even sachin (as usual) failed. but dravid and laxman fought back and with their superhuman effort we went on win that test and the series. as far as i remember waugh did not resign or was not sacked...same examples can be given of every captain like ponting, lloyd, imran, strauss, smith, sangakkara etc.

Atleast against Australia, YES......! There seems to be no interaction with the bowler on the field by Dhoni, or any senior players. How often have we seen killer teams setting defensive fields when opposition is reeling under such scores of 27/4, 35/3 or 98/5?
Replacing Dhoni is NOT the ONLY solution. Apart from that, seniors need to go one by one. Laxman seems to be the 1stbakra, surely Dravid will be the next. Thanks to Sharad Pawar &Co, Sachin will finish his hyped mahashatak and plan whether to retire or not!
We would rather lose with a young team than this insult!

Blame
by Shikari Shambu on Jan 10, 2012 05:30 AM  | Hide replies

You are the cause
You are my pain
You are the reason
I'm going insane

I hate you dearly
My soul will ache
As long as I know
That you're awake

You've made me weak
You forced me to lie
You are the reason
Why I still cry

You've ruined my life
It's all your fault
I cannot escape
Your deadly assault

I'm haunted by you
And your twisted soul
Your hate stricken mind
holds a selfish control

I wish for your death
To be painful and slow
I wish for the day
You go down below

I want you to suffer
For all that you've done
My sadness was born
The day you begun

Everything you know
Everything you touch
has been destroyed
By your evil clutch

I place this on you
This is your blame
There's no one else
This is your shame

You deserve the worst
May you never be free
At least I'm not selfish
Because you are me....

Jiju, Shikari Shambu's problem in life is that he betted on sachin and dhoni when it seemed that they would win ipl. first he bet on sachin thinking MI will win. he lost horribly. and then he thought Dhoni's CSK would win. again he better heavily. this time csk lost. so he is angry with sachin and dhoni for burning a hole in his pocket to the tune of around 20000 rs. this poem is probably addressed to both of them.

I told him that neither sachin nor dhoni asked him to bet. and so the only person to blame is he himself for the choices he made in his lfe. he chose to bet and lost. nobody but himself is to blamed. but it seems he is yet to get over his monetary loss.
