Blame ourselves
by shiva on Jan 07, 2012 08:20 PM

We thought we can hammer everyone, everywhere! We are worse than most on foreign soil. When do we learn the basics? Even SL plays better overseas. We need faster wickets at home; end of the story!

Srikanth promoting regionalism
by naiyer on Jan 07, 2012 08:07 PM  | Hide replies

V never expected srikanth to be so low in mentality that despite being on national duty he is promoting TAMIL players.nothing wrong if he bring talent but it shd not b at the cost of more talented players.during his last 2 years of tenure he has given chance to atlst 6 tamil players.e.g. badrinath. murli vijay,....etc.obviously if so many players r given so many chances he is bound to do in some matches.well done srikanth.now take responsblity 4 all ur tamil bhakti.

Badrinath played 2 tests and scored fifty against steyn attack. Murali Vijay was given an extended run and he scored century against Australia. Mukund played only 5 tests and showed admirable fighting skills.

Now Ashwin is second leading scorer in This Series.

Don't carry your foolish grudge into cricket and promote hatredness against TAMILS.

Generally people from Western India have grudge against people from Eastern India. It would be much better if you drop grudge.

@veda : Ashwin is in the team as a bowler not as a batsman.

Foreign trip by Indian Cricket team
by Manoj Panja on Jan 07, 2012 07:50 PM  | Hide replies

Perhaps Indiaa do not make homework before any foreign trip.India always depended on individual performances and expect for miracles. There will be sudden sparkles in in foreign soil but at the end of trip we get a bag full of despairs.India should start think invest such huge money in other sports like Lawn Tennis / Badminton /Table Tennis where individual skill is important and forget cricket.

Dhoni should be sacked
by Mahesh V on Jan 07, 2012 07:37 PM  | Hide replies

If you see performance of MSD in tests, then he should not find a place in the tests, leave alone being a captain. How can such a person who is a T20 and ODI specialist be Test captain and motivate other test players ???
BCCI should consider horses for courses theory before appointing the captain. T20 and ODI teams can be captained by MSD but better to appoint Gambhir or Sehwag as captain.

He has been made into a demigod by the Media. It seems he has lot issues with Delhi cricketers and there seems to be total lack of focus and will to win matches in the Team. Thanks to IPL effect the quality of defence technique so vital in test cricket has taken a beating.

NOW IT IS TOO HARD TO RECOVER.
SRIKANT AND COMPANY did not put best batting such as Jaffer, rahane, rohit sharma. Once india would have strong batting in place, you could have bought the inconsistent in test like gambhir, kohli, sehwag, etc. If kohli and gambhir can impress dhoni with social skills to pull along and sehwag with not controlling his nerves and laxman/dravid having weak nerves and Tendulkar not arresting his wrong tactics and ...

NOW IT IS TOO HARD TO RECOVER.
neither did you put the best spin i.e ojha. Now it is hard to recover from the hit. Ashwin is not in team for his batting.

It has nothing do with who would or should have been selected..... if they were there in place of Gambhir or VVS, you could have just reversed your statement.

main problems are:

-- mediocre...players being hyped base on their performance on flat Indian/sub continent pitches...example dh0bhi___Kholi___Raina__Gambhir__Sehwag, etc

--these mediocre...players earning more money than they deserve or for very little efforts due...IPL

-- praising a bowlers for his batting skills ... example__Ashwin

- last but not least.....BCCI/selectors..... they do not care about results against AUS, SA, and ENG because they know .... they can arrange a follow up series against mediocre team like BD, WI, SRL, or NZ

Sewag not a flatty bully but lot off talent, in fast track his batting performance .. once in a while he can destroy bowling in any track..but in Perth..very less chance..

Why so much fuss
by LG on Jan 07, 2012 06:29 PM  | Hide replies

I am not disappointed by defeats of Indian team as a unit in Aus now or for that matter in England earlier

Indian team as whole was never a world beater....even when they were ranked #1 ( courtesy playing home against teams with poor bowling units)

However, I am utterly disappointed by missing of 100th 100 by Sachin because Sachin deserve it more than anyone else........ he has been playing superbly ...but he does not seems have any luck .... having said that I am sure he will make it soon.

Introspect yourself.....find out what you mean by putting a player above the team.

Simply think of the following:

if a b c d e = f g g h i

if c increases LHS becomes > RHS if b, c, d,e, f,g, h,i remain constant

So the point is there is nothing wrong in hoping for more runs ( 100s) from individual... in fact only serves the team better.

Be your on judge instead of getting influenced by some stupids who talk about putting team before individual being absolute truth

Hoping 100 from your favorite cricketer is nothing wrong, but saying you are not dissapointed with India's loss is as good as being a deshdrohi! I am sure that Sachin will also agree with this!

New series

Nothing to worry. India will any way loose 4 - Nil. BCCI will arrange a home series with Bangladesh & Zimbabwe, all these useless batsmen will come back into form once again. No. 8, 9 ,& 10 will also score centuries and bat all the 5 days without letting the opposition to bat. We will be No. one test team once again. Tendulkar can score as many centuries as he wants
