what makes Sachin...
by LG on Jan 02, 2012 04:03 PM  | Hide replies

greatest batsman ever

-being best in attacks and defense as well...allowing him to control/pace his inning on all kind of pitches

- can play five different shots on same kind of delivery

- best again pace and spin as well

- longevity .... one the best among the best can survive for long time, many players like Lara, Vaughan, who were once compared to Sachin, came and gone, but Sachin is still the best bat in the world

- being best in all formats of cricket....bet it 20-20, ODI, or Test.

Because of all this, he is considered at the greatest not only by fans but also by cricketers and commentators as well.

The most promising youngster among the available pool of talent, one Virat Kohli, scored 11 in the 1st innings and a FIRST BALL GOLDEN DUCK in the 2nd innings of the 1st Test.

Why not replace all the 30'ish guys from Sehwag to Gambhir, Dravid, Sachin, Laxman, etc and replace them with such gems. That would ensure that future Test matches doesn't even continue for more than a couple of days.

Sachin mania
by R S SARMA on Jan 02, 2012 11:56 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin deserves all the respect for his achievements which nearly impossible for any other player to replicate. However, we, cricket lovers, are not fortunate enough to watch any occasions, especially in tests, where sachin single handedly lead Team India to victory. Boxing day test was a great opportunity for this to happen. But, unfortunately not so. At the fag end of his career I can only pray, to see a sachin singly leading India to a victory.

just imagine urself in a new year party of some 100s of unknown ppl encircling u and making u to sing and dance..may be its easy to some and not easy to some one else..but if u are asked to just stand in front of 40000, imagine the fear..sachin, has been enacting the drama called batting in front of atleast 50000 ppl for 22 long years..imagine the pressure on this chap and inspite of it, is the world record holder of runs scored...have a pity on him boss..if some one says he and the trio should retire and give chances to youngsters, they themselves would be laughing with in themselves that they are asked to replace these guys..time will come for everything, but let them be the deciders..

You are talking about oldies thrown out and getting replaced by youngsters??? Whether its Sehwag, Dravid or Sachin... all scored some runs in 1st test except Laxman. See what is the contribution from so called youngsters like Kohli, Dhoni and Gambir... all strugling. Oldies will go eventually when a promising youngster shows consistency. Not like Yuvraj who performed one in 10 matches.

Its not easy to be in limelight all the time, take pressures, deliver most of the time, have 100s of crores in your bank and still maintain motivation, keep your head of shoulder and feet on ground. many a celebreities, sportesmen, women have lost balance in doing that but this man Tendulkar is doing this by his impeccable behavior on and off ground. Great man indeed. salute to you Sachin!
