A team which cudnt score 200 runs
by virat v on Feb 29, 2012 12:12 AM  | Hide replies

A team which cudnt score 200 runs, it wud hv been considered a miracle, had they scored 320 even in 50 overs, is chasing it in 36 overs!!! Amazing!!!
But for this, bcci has to come into picture, to bail out lankan board from monetary crisis, n give incentives to lankan players who hvnt been paid since last 1 year!!! Only G_0_D_ knows the answer!

If India loses the players are useless! If India wins BCCI fixed the match! Wonderful logic! Pls join congress!

Its very easy to belittle the win saying it was a batting pitch - it doesn't matter how good the pitch was - Getting 320 in 36 overs will no mean achievement adding to the fact that the Sri Lankans saved close to 20 runs with their brilliant fielding!

But this one win does not mean India is back on track - What India needed to do rite from first test match was play aggressive cricket which they unfortunately did not do! Yday they had no choice and boy it was refreshing to see Sachin go after Kulasekara and Co instead of playing like a school boy!

Australia in a fix
by praveen misra on Feb 28, 2012 11:28 PM  | Hide replies

Australia is in a fix as they do not know what to do now. If they win then india will kill them and if they lose srilankans will kill them.

Our team again proved they r flat tarck bullies.ball was coming on to bat like it was soccer ball and there were no need to pool or hook since indian r used of playig diliveries bellow waist and for adding more advantage srilankan were not bowling even above knee.accept it or not this is the reality.and stop comparing virat with sachin because in upcoming days u shameless people nat gonna spare him from your abuses in case if in one series he go without performing.

agree this pitch was very india like...low bounce albeit more even.

Also this really was not a pressure match, it was almost as if we had nothing to lose and so could just play freely withotu worrying about anything. Jaywardhane smartly made that evident in his comments.

You Indian crab...if the flat pitches are so easy each time Aussies and England come to India should be scoring mountain of runs...I guess that is not the case..Grow up, at least once our team played to their potential, will wait for aussies to visit india...the way england was treated in ODI just following their 4-0 test win in their own backyard..atleast for england and SA they have only favourable/doctored pitces.but for aussies it is Pitch, Media, and 3 umpires...no wonder they never looses in their country..this time we will have our own umpires in indian series...with clear instruction which batsman to target..just flatten them and rest will follow..no brainer..

Time has changed
by Vijay Singh on Feb 28, 2012 10:38 PM

Virat's innings is indeed one of the finest innings ever played in ODI. It reminds me the Innings of VVS Laxman played in 2001 at Eden Garden against Australia. If we look at past we would come to know that after 2000, teams are making heap of records as far as runs scored are concerned. 10 most successful run chases came after 2000. How many times team have scored 300 . Number of centuries, players having average more than 40. But if you look towards bowling all these years, there are rare incidents of a bowler picking 4,5,6 wickets haul. Team all out under 100 runs. There was a time when 250 in an ODI ensured win for the team batting first. It seems that now the pitches are being made to provide the entertainment for the spectators. Batting paradise and nothing for the bowlers. Look at today's match, it produced 641 runs in 86.4 overs with only 7 wickets fell down. It has become an entertainment hub....

i don't think they will take that risk, as SL has beaten them in last two matches.

If they lose they will play SL. If they win, India will be in the final. From a financial point of view they would want India in the final because crowds will come to see if Tendulkar can score a hundred.

Virat played a gr8 knock

Virat played a knock which only many Indians can dream of...
I cannot recollect in recent history a knock of such magnitude played under pressure that won India the match..

Indian
best chase ever
by Indian on Feb 28, 2012 09:21 PM

this will go down in ODI history as the best chase ever... and no doubt Virat Kohli remains its architect...
I think this will even eclipse the chase of South Africa against Australia in Wanderers in 2005-06.
The fact that India were under tremendous pressure during this chase where every ball counted and the entire team had its back on the wall with a disastrous tour, proves that this victory is second to none..
