In order to keep IPL alive BCCI needed to do something urgently! And they did exactly that. Millions changed hands. Everybody is happy! Srilankans are happier as IPL pays them much more than Srilankan Board could afford. Did you guys notice the smiling face of Jayawardhane in the presentation ceremony?
Virat played a knock which only many Indians can dream of... I cannot recollect in recent history a knock of such magnitude played under pressure that won India the match..
Why Sachin didnt perform in do or die situations in all the World cups he played ?
WC 2011 - Final against SRILANKA - 18 runs - India won due to efforts of Gambhir and Dhoni
WC 2003 - In the finals of 2003 ICC World Cup against Australia Sachin scored four runs and India lost by 125 runs .
WC 2007 - Knockout match against Srilanka - Sachin was out for duck
WC 1999 - Last match in super sixes against NEW ZEALAND which was knock out - 16 runs
WC 1996 - crucial encounter against Srilanka - could not get India to victory - 65 runs
WC 1992 - crucial against South Africa - 14 runs
If Sachin is the greatest of all times, why he does not have a single instance where he single handedly carried India to victory in a do-or-die match situation in a World cup. Dont boast about Sharjah cup or CB series where he did something on non-significant matches of academic interest.

Even Kohli scored in this insignificant match against Sri Lanka. :-)
this will go down in ODI history as the best chase ever... and no doubt Virat Kohli remains its architect... I think this will even eclipse the chase of South Africa against Australia in Wanderers in 2005-06. The fact that India were under tremendous pressure during this chase where every ball counted and the entire team had its back on the wall with a disastrous tour, proves that this victory is second to none..
