I have been disappointed with his form lately. He did well under Gary Kirsten by giving first 30 minutes to the bowlers and then launching into attack mode. These days he throws his bat around much too soon. Also, with his game dependent on hand eye co-ordination, it is but natural for him to struggle on quick, bouncy wickets as he advances in age. I hope he can turn around things with focus on fitness and concentration but in case he doesn't, I thank him for all the entertainment he has provided over the years and wish him well post retirement.
Actually the medai has hyped our team's abiltities to the skies, so the average fan thinsk too highly of our cricketers and expect us to do well every match.. truths, we have 2 or 3 good(not great) players(Tendulkar past his prime).. thats about it.. its not possible to do well consistently with just 2 or 3..
given his lethargic style of batting, the opposition need not do anything special to get his wicket..hes the most gifted personality in cricket, i mean, he easily gifts his wicket away..i would say more than tendulkar, viru should retire from ODIs..
poor rohit is not getting teh same backing like virat..he should be told that hes as good as virat and he will be given the same number of chances like virat..
hope india unites and put up a beter display in this series..

Actually it seems he is more of Kapil's standard when it comes to batting, despited his great record.. gifted, talented , reckless.. He is a product of recent times, when batting has become easy , pitches being made flat, bowling quality diminishing.. so naturally a lot of batsmen these day avergae 50 ..

sehwag as an youngster can get away with his style, beacause, the raw power of an youngster even without technical brilliance is far enough to fetch runs..but sehwag as the oldie baldie can get away with this style..

tendulkar the genius could survive for this long because he plays according to situation..that is, respect the bowlers when it matters and go after the bowling when it is destined..

and pls dont compare kapil the greatest with the silly sehwag..the situation when kapil enters is almost like what dhoni is encountering..he doesnt have many choice except to go after the bowling..mind u, kapil can attack even in seaming and bouncy pitches..
When has sehwag delivered against quality bowling or under great pressure.. his style of batting might work on subcontinent.. but in places where it moves slighltly, even an average to good bowling has always exposed him.. IF he plays mcgrath, ambrose, donald etc on a consistent basis his average wudve been 35 in tests and under 30 in onedays
is the best, cant judge him on basis of low perfermence in few inniging, nobody is near to him in aggressive batting currently in India. He will come back with more mature player in coming time. No match for him
India beat France 6-2 (read that again!) in the most important game gearing up for Olympics and Rediff wouldn't even care for it. Rather, we are made to read about Ponting this and Akram that. BS.
And before anyone criticizes me for writing my gripe here - remember, there is no other place for hockey lovers as rediff doesn't even cover it.
Ashwin is far better player under pressure then Jadeja. Jadeja has pulled defeat out of Jaws of victory. Where as Ashwin in his short carrer, already has proven that he can handle the pressure way better then most in this team..
