Sachin will retire only if Jack Kallis, Kumar Sangakkara quit the game so that his records will not be broken in the near future. Ricky Ponting had to quit tests also.

sachin is politician...
by sudhakar on Feb 22, 2012 01:45 PM  | Hide replies

sachin denied Robin uthappa chance after 2007 world cup...he blamed uthappa when everyone failed in that world cup....he then requested ambani to take uthappa in MI team and then he made him middle order batsman as he didnt want threat to his place as opener that time..after that he became injured in 2008 and despite good showing by uthappa in challenger trophy and domestic season in 2008-09 he asked selectors to use makeshift openers like kohli kartik, rohit sharma and hence ruined youngsters career...this made side effect on uthappa and his performance got down due to lack of spirit in domestics....what kind of politics is it.

Sachin Retirement
by Harish Punjabi on Feb 22, 2012 01:38 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin should retire or play all games. Since last couple of years he is choosing his own games which is not fair. Either he should always be available or he should make way for some other player. He is spoiling the balance of the team. Although Dhoni is much Junior to him but his achievements are no less then the Little Master of Indian Cricket.

Should Retire.
by krishnan subru on Feb 22, 2012 01:36 PM

Long before he should have retired. Now with his pathetic performance & form, he should quit immediately. His technique also showing flaws. His footwork pathetic. Runs he is not getting. Injury very often. All these should lead his to quit instantly.

Sachin Should retire but on high note, after scoring another 4-5 centuries, which is possible. You cant throw such a great cricketer. If he is not performing then other are also failing. He is not taking anybody place.

Sachin should retire as and when he feels it fit. However,if any player is found even 60% of sachin's talent i.e scoring a minimimum of two fifties and one hundred per seies of 5 tests,,the selectors should drop him immediately.Dr Dinesh Saxena

Why to cry about this?
by nkv prasad on Feb 22, 2012 01:06 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin didn't play in England series, did we do any good there? (BTW Where is that poor guy Rahane now, who did somewhat well in that seires). Sachin didn't play in Ind vs.WI home series also. We narrowly won the series just because it was a home series. Do we have a strong bench of young players who can do well in the absense of a potential player?. Unfortunately - No. So replacing Sachin immediately will not solve any problems. How many yongesters are doing consistently these days. If they are good they will get injured. If not they are not consistent. Except Kohli we don't see any one played somewhat consistently for the last few years. Take the examples of Raina, Rohit, Dhoni, they are all hidden failures.
I don't think Sachin will play onedayers for more than a year from now? No surprise if he leaves after this series. So leave him the option. People talk to be on the news headlines. Media talks to get some readers. (Otherwise, why rediff comes up with this kind of discussion, as if it can decide the future of Sachin)
Those who followed cricket in 90's might have remembered how Kapil became a burden to the team because of his world record ambition. I remember in one NZ series, Kumble bowled faster than this guy. Last 2-3 years of Kapil's career was horrible. He tested everybody's patience. The same guy is now demanding Sachin to retire, hiding his past under his a**.
These problems are not due to any particular player. These are because of the brainless BCCI rulers.
