Ponting dropped, Watson returns to One-day squad
by mohan krishnan on Feb 20, 2012 06:23 PM

Ponting has been dropped not asked to retire from team. our media is posting the article as if Ponting has been told to retire. i think it is same as rotation policy of Australia which dhoni is doing the same with seniors then you people critize dhoni by say he is insulting the seniors by dropping them. someone said Tendulkar wants to make his century against Bangladesh why not ? they may be at the bottom of the table but they are test playing nation and they are their to perfom well and win not allow opposition to win, that's why it never underestimate any team, since we do not know how any team will perform on a given day including Australia, Bangladesh and other teams against India. support the team captained by Dhoni or by any other player who is appointed captain by Indian Team Management and do not worry about Sachin's 100th century, and appreciate our team weather we win or lose, and with our support our team do well

Dropping of Ricky

There is a lesson here. It is only fair that a player, even if a proven one, is given enough chances and then a decision taken That is what the Aussie Board has done. In the past all the earlier seniors chose to call it a day before the Board dropped them. Afterall the Board has to consider the future of Australian cricket. Will our BCCI will act tough!

Time for Sachin
by Jag on Feb 20, 2012 05:30 PM

Thank you Ponting for the wonderful cricket and the champion you were. Now its time for Sachin to say good bye. Thank you Sachin for carrying the expectations of our billion strong cricket crazy nation. our selectors don't have the spine to drop him. He can be assured a game against Bangladesh to complete his 100th century if it is still a priority for him.

These type of decisions are taken in professionally managed teams where the priority is team's success and not individuals records. BCCI should learn team management from them and take appropriate measures to improve the team's standard instead of wasting time on repeatedly glorifying/exalting the underperforming cricketers.

Indian money in cricket has ensured Ponting is dropped. Now India will win the tri-series.

This is how bcci cricket coffers will continue flowing. what a master move!
