Slow

Dhoni himself is the worst 'keeper at present. He has missed at least two great chances to make batsmen run out. Just growing more slow due to ..

very difficult to win consistently or to be the best team in the long run if the captain himself is selfish.
I liked Kapil for his passion and leading from the front(for the team's cause of course) and not pretending to be leading from the front as our current captain is doing (destroying the careers of others and trying to improve his average and playing on his own terms and pace).
Even Rahul was a better captain mainly because of his attitude and unselfishness. As for Sourav though he was slightly selfish(batting wise) he always gave importance to merit and didn't try to do politics and regionalism in team selection.Even Tendulkar didn't try to discourage real talent.

What a great revelation you have made! I am speechless. Dhoni seems to be the only guy performing in the team and is emerging out to be a hero in a losing cause otherwise. So better get your facts right ok!

Dhoni
by Flavors on Feb 20, 2012 11:33 AM

has a point. It's time for the slow movers to step down and pave way for the youngsters. Fielding makes a lot of difference in the result of the matches. And it's absolutely senseless to compare the seniors' avg with juniors like Virat/Raina/Jadeja etc. They need some time to settle down. They bleed in the field to stop boundaries and their team spirits are very high. It's the opening stand that has let the team down on most occasions.

Dhoni behaving like CSK not Indian captain
by Michael Angelo on Feb 20, 2012 11:18 AM  | Hide replies

R.Jadeja was picked up by CSK. BCCI president and Chief of Selectors are both CSK guys. So Dhoni was given strict intstruction to pick up R.Jadeja at all costs. R.Jadeja can't bowl or bat well. But he will be picked for all matches. Dhoni is giving rubbish excuses. Gauti is not a slow mover on the field. Dhoni is under pressure form N.Srinivasan and Srikanth to reserve one place for R.Jadeja. If Jadeja s dropped it will be an insult to CSK. So Dhoni is using this ridiculous rotation policy.

Gauti is a slow mover and a lousy catcher. But a good batsman and good runner between wickets.

Why Dhoni is banned?
by cr srinivas on Feb 20, 2012 10:58 AM  | Hide replies

Bcoz of slow over rate,Dhoni is banned. This is ridiculous,Since India bowled slowly.to compensate that India played very fast and played only 43 overs in their alloted batting innings. Why Referee dint consider that.Dhoni should be told this to referee so that he may escaped from ban.

Ganguly
by mitul on Feb 20, 2012 10:55 AM  | Hide replies

never used to back out like Dhoni.
Dhoni likes to take credit if we win, if we lose,he has all the lame excuses.
He's proving that he was just a lucky captain. Ganguly was a true captain.

Ganguly is the most selfish person. He is campaigning for himself in FB. Dont compare Dhoni with useless Ganguly

At least Ganguly did not try to pretend that he was unselfish. Also, Ganguly's captaincy can not be compared to that of Dhoni, because the situations were different. Ganguly was given the job when India was going through a bad phase and he rebuilt the team and the spirit.

Yeah but india was quite an inconsistent team then riding on success of rahul and laxman. Then slowly yuvi, sehwag etc came into the scene. Every captain needs a good team of players and a good team of players need a good captain as well.

hehehe. Nice fantasy. Dont you remember the story about ganguly skipping a test due to a green track ? You have this whole myth about ganguly due to his off field antics wrt australians. Gangulys azz was saved a lot of times by Dravid and Laxman the way they batted together. Gangus success owes a lot to those two.

Dhoni...come aside gracefully
by Mohammed Jameel on Feb 20, 2012 10:45 AM  | Hide replies

dhoni days seem to be over. He shud come down on captaincy gracefully rather than putting blame on other senior players, due to whom India acheived No.1 status in cricket.
We need some professionalism by these celebrity cricketers who are assumed to be role model of many youngsters.

u hv got it all wrong. today's youths are carried away if they are given a chance in the team bcoz after they earn a few bucks they think they can sit back and relax so that the Indian public will waste time like u to praise these non performing assets
