I think if lara, kallis, and ponting , da Silva play for 20 yrs like tingulkar than they could score more runs and more centuries. Because they are champions. Only worthy innings of Sachin scoring 98 against paki in Centurion in 2003 world cup. But ponting and da silva perform in WC finals. They deserve credit.

And exactly HOW did India reach finals of so many tournaments? If Tendulkar did not perform in the initial stages of the tournament, you would not have written this comment in the first place!!!
And Kallis has never reached a WC Finals. Does that mean he is a non performer?

desi a non performer is somebody who does not perform when the situation calls for a performance....
sachin's ''performances'' have come in easy conditions...
rarely have the come when the indian side is in trouble...if he performs well at such times...then only he can be called a performer...sadly such cases are very rare...
thats why he is not the best or greatest...there exist players who are better than him in all formats in all countries...

It is a cultural issue. Australians (like Americans) are gregarious, outdoorsy people. They show their emotions openly. Indians are docile, homweard bound people. Also Indians have superiority complex after achieving a little bit in life. So I think this kind of behaviour is not uncommon.

But I think I am gonna say in the favour of famous people (not politicians, they are crooks) is that one reason they dont venture out much is that they are mobbed wherever they go. That could be "one" reason thay stay away. The same problem does not exist with non Indian celebrities because their privacy is somewhat respected.
