Pl see it in the correct perspective. He got a team on the down swing. Give him another year with youngsters around and lets see how he does and then watch for good signs and bad ones. And to his credit he just got to lead them straight into our Achilles heel, away tours. It is very difficult to get the confidence back up when you are trashed like the way we were and that too even before you get to know the players. The gauge shouldn't be how many series we win or loose, but how are we playing it. Having said all this, I certainly think it is time we started having indian coaches, not foreign ones.

True. But I somehow feel Indian coaches have too much ego. They bring in regionalism & politics at times...... But having said that, u r right. Better to wait and watch.
I have mis-read the title of the article. I thought India are close to chasing a modest target set by Australia. Oooops, match will be played 2morrow........

please no ashwin for tommorow . The arm twister got thrashed badly by wade and co. at the mcg . The aussies have made him their bunny

Please recall, he was thrashed when he was bowling with a wet ball. Till the rain stepped in the Aussies were on back-foot-35 runs in 11 overs with 2 down. We should discredit the team unduly. We tend to forget that in each of the 4 matches in England India bowled with wet ball. Luck can sometimes be so unfair!

he might have bowled with a wet ball which was unfair on ashwin but yet he had to be put away on mcg which is no mean ground to clear the ropes. Man ashwin was taken to the cleaners by wade and david hussey and full credit should be given them
