Rohit is the most talented youngster in the side and as Dhomni mentioned once he gets couple of more games he will regain his form.Similar thing happened with Virat Kohli in Tests but credit must be given to the team management that it persisted with him and now result is there for every one to see.Rohit Sharma was on the bench all along and is yet to adapt to the extra bounce in the Aus conditions. The way even Raina and Dhoni got out suggest that they are not able to perfect 'timing' the pull or the shots in general.Due to this 'mistiming' the ball is going up in a parabolic path instead of the eleptical path and is landing short.Even otherwise the grounds are big and is not easy to clear.Even Sachin got out because of the 'mistiming' due to the extra bounce because of which instead of the bat smothering the ball as per their experience in the sub-continental conditions it is the the ball which is meeting the bat quicker than it is intended and goes out in adifferent direction than intended way.Youngsters like Suresh Raina should be more circumspect and should not be in a hurry to play lofted shots. That way Virat Kohli seems to have got control of the bounce and the timing very well.
There is a dirty politics being played by the team management committee of the Indian cricket team. Rohit Sharma is a diamond in the team and he was made to sit out during the Test series. He is young, energetic in fielding, in form batsman, surprise change bowler to break a partnership and he was not even considered, even when every one was failing to stop Aussie juggernaut ! India used the services of only 12 players out of the 15 or 16 they had selected for the tour even when things were not going India's way ! WHY ?? They never thought of the prestige of the nation ! What sort of people are they ?! Why they didn't give chance to Rohit, Oza, Irfan, Saha at least in the 3rd and 4th test ?? I am sure these youngsters would have won at least one test for India !!

But why not try for others when the stalwarts were fumbling ? At least in the 3rd or 4th test when everything was lost already ?

yes; he should have played at least in the last test match. That would have given him confidence. His poor performance is more due to bias shown by the team mgt.
Raina is in the worst of form among the batsmen yet he is not made to sit out. Dhoni is being biased for his chennai super kings team mates. Raina, Jadeja and Ashwin are playing because of favouritism. Why so much of hype about Ashwin being MOM. He failed in 11 innnings and kept on playing by coincidence he would have fired in 12 innings anyhow !
without tendulkar, what would have happened in second match against Sri Lanka. U forget about his 100th century. He is contributing lot for his team in test as well as onbe dayer.

True. Rohit had been given plenty of chances. Instead of Rohit, Raina has taken out India during trouble times single handedly.
It is a mystery that why Sachin is being inserted in to a team which requires strong legs and smartness on the field. Just to complete a record he is being selected but this would cost an important position in ODI team. Kohli, Rohit and Raina should not be disturbed at any cost as they are the future for India. Rotation should be between Sehwag, Sachin and Gambhir only. We need a young and confident team for 2015 World Cup.

When Viru and Gauti are equally out of form, what is wrong in retaining SRT who is atleast scoring 30s and 40s. While your argument to retain Rohit is a sound one, the other one to drop SRT in place of Viru or Gauti is not.
