Ganguly Is Responsible for the turnaround
by Sourav Singh on Dec 31, 2012 07:13 PM  | Hide replies

It was under his leadership that Indian Cricket team started believing in itself and started winning consistently. He is in many ways a better captain than most. He was also the most valuable player when in his prime possibly even better than the great Tendulkar. He will certainly put the team back on track.

Better still have Rahul Dravid and Javagal Srinath as the batting and boeling consultants alongwith coach Ganguly

I am bengali and still saying this " Gangully is bigger threat for India , He is political and will spoil the entire team, with No cost, Gangully should be coach , Azzu and/or Dravid should be good choice "

I agree. Ganguly and Amarnath are both fighters and will not be affected by the star power of the players.

Robin singh and Venkatesh Prasad with Lalchand Rajput
by Manjapara Rangarajan on Dec 31, 2012 07:06 PM  | Hide replies

We had a good stop gap arrangement earlier in the form of Robin as feilding coach and Venkatesh Prasad as bowling coach with Lalchand Rajput being the manager . It really worked well with India winning the twenty twenty world cup in 2007 and the one day series in Australia.
Why cant we get them back and see .

I see revenge in his eyes, first thing he will remove dhoni
by Sheikh Akber on Dec 31, 2012 06:01 PM  | Hide replies

He is a great manipulator, and dhoni won't allow him to come onboard, ganguly supporters in team already trying their negative best to oust him from captaincy by not playing up to the standards, and making dhoni's plan fall.

He is very aggressive and forthright person. He also has all information about the game. He will call a spade a spade and never a heart or a sword like others.

Ganguly as coach of the Indian team? I sincerely hope not. A person who avoided fielding drills because he was too lazy/high and mighty, a person who had difficulty with the short ball, reluctant to dive or field...he should be the last person coaching India.

ah, you are around, making assumptions as usual. did i ever say that fletcher was the first choice? all i said was that ganguly is not fit to be a coach.

i think he should first coach pune warriors
by krishna v on Dec 31, 2012 04:20 PM  | Hide replies

ganguly has excellent credentials no doubt. but then his success for kkr and pune warriors as player-mentor has been very poor. So its better he does well for pune warriors before thinking of team india coach. Kapil dev is a better option.

Dude, T20 and coaching?? No disrespect though, but Laxman has been selected as the mentor for the new IPL team for Hyderabad :)

Now tell me, how good a player Laxman is, for T20 :):)

COACH GANGULY
by asim sinha on Dec 31, 2012 04:20 PM  | Hide replies

WITH VAST EXPERIENCE BEHIND HIM AND BEING THE CREATOR OF "TEAM INDIA" AND COMBINED WITH HIS AGGRESIVE APPROACH, HE CAN BE A GOOD CHOICE. IN ANY CASE, HE CAN NOT BE WORST THAN FLETCHER.
