Criticised folks all should be happy. As if they have better players in india they asked Sachin to retire. Now what is your plan to replace him.. FAILURE started for Team india. We should see soon we will be last in the 10 ODI and Test playing Nation.

Sachin can't play his whole life. He gets old just like everyone else and starts falling behind.

Always good to use brain for a change then getting too emotional for no reasons..

49 Centuries
by Jay on Dec 23, 2012 08:33 PM

49 centuries is fine. With some luck, some of the nineties could have become hundereds. But he made the first ODI double hundred to raise the level for others.

WHAT THE HECK????
by Manu Zach on Dec 23, 2012 08:26 PM

He was struggling in the test matches and he retires from ODIs. He wasn't playing that many ODIs either in the recent past. Again, as they say..."It happens only in India"..!!!

gavaskar's comments

Gavaskar should say--critcism from me prompted him to retire. It is a known fact that Sachin reveres Sunil and also looks up to him whenever he faces technique problems. After asking for his retirement do not say it is sad he did not complete 50 ODI hundreds.

End of an era and I will add Dravid, Laxman, Kumble and Dada too. Now let us hope we can find others to fill in the shoes - and replace them if they fail - there is no pressure of records anymore!

gaskar retired with respect after neil foster clean bowled him in mumbai home ground in 1987 RELIANCE world cup so there is always end of every sweet story also like that sachin failed in England test tour 2011 after world cup 2011 also in Australia tour 2011 it is high time to play only t20 no test matches also so that longest waiting list of test match debutants will be confirmed and india may not loose against OZ atleast due to poor fielding of sachin as dhoni finds it very tough to hide sachin in test match for example in mumbai test sachin rested and his substitute ajinkaya rahane dropped 2 catches costed india mumbai test after victory at ahmedbad triggered england win confidence

Gavaskar was not bowled by Foster, but by DeFreitas. It was not that one which prompted retirement. Dhoni finding difficult to hide?? What are you upto? Dhoni is hiding in Test team only due to Srinivasan is now open secret!

dhoni fielding is world class we remember adam gilkhrist when dhoni dismiss alister cook in nagpur test so dhoni as wicket keeper is just sufficient to be part of team but if each fielder wants to be placed at sleep then there must be no catch dropped at slip but the easy catches dropped by rahane in mumbai test only triggered british fight back and india lost series 1-2 so remember each dropped catch attracts many doubts sir?
