I would place Sachin along with Gandhi, Nehru,Sardar Patel and Netaji for being the Best in his Chosen Field. For his Humbleness. For his Diginified Conduct on and Off the Field. For his Non-Controversal approach to issues. Now that he retired, partly atleast, he should think of playing important role in guiding the Youth of this country in the right direction. Hats-off to Sachin for his contribution to this greatest of Nations.

Mr Burra Sachin is a mere mortal he sacrifised nothing only am`assed run and wealth.I do appreciate his acheivements on the field thas it .I would rate laxman highier than Sachin who has really turned around indian cricket but he is a lesser in mortal.Sachin should have retired gracefully years ago paving way for youngsters mentored them.Narcissam is a bad streak and such people live only for them selves.Dravid is a great soul on that account utterly nonselfish. Sehwag is uncomplicated and a great entertainer far ahead of Sachin.Compare Sachin with Netaji,Patel and Gandhi is nothing less than blasphemous. But you are entitled to have your opinion
The whole world know that Sachin is way past his prime. Even with his deteriorating performance, if he choose not to retire then criticism bound to happen..
Sachi is not the only one Ponting went through the same over the last year..
THE PERSON WHO HAVE FIRST TO CRITICISE MR. CLEAN SACHIN TENDULKAR AND THE GUY WHO MADE 36 NOT OUT IN 60 OVER MATCH,WHAT IS ELIGIBILITY HE HAS? SO NOW HE IS GETTING EMOTIONAL ABOUT MR. CLEAN SACHIN'S RETIREMENT. LEAVE HIM ALONE NOW.....WE DON'T WANT HEAR YOUR JEALOUSY EMOTIONS.....KEEP AWAY....

Given the quality of your English, are you familiar with the meaning of the word 'buffoon'? Spelling wise and meaning wise, it fits you (and the retarded moderator of rediff) perfectly.

Mr Krishanan ! oflate many rickshaw pullers(you look like one of them ) have started watching cricket and commenting. Before raising doubts on capabilty of Gavaskar you should 1st get some knowledge on cricker. And the title name with yours...you are a perfect fit in this.
Thanks a lot Sachin for Your 23 Years of UNFORGETTABLE JOURNEY in the world cricket...It is end of golden era not only in Indian but world cricket...You will always be in our hearts ..We used to watch Cricket only because of you playing there....With your retirement, Cricket will not attract me any more.Bye Bye to One-day Cricket.........:-(

He needs to be dropped. two days ago, he made himself available against Pakistan. Sensing that he was not going to be picked he quitely sent a letter to Srinivasan or may be he was told to send the letter to avoid being insulted. Pataudi, Gavaskar, Kumble, Dravid retired gracefully.
Sensible decision by SRT.Who wanted his retirement genuinely ---i thank them. Those shouting due to their habit and jealousy and those genuine haters---please let me know ---do we have exact replacement for him?If yes you are welcome and if no then FEVICOL please.
SRT ODI 175vs Aus 143vs Aus 134vs Aus 141vs pak 98vs pak TEST 169vs SA 155vs Aus 136vs pak 114vs Eng 119vs aus These 10innings in odi and test are played under pressure, adverse conditions, team in trouble, brilliant bowling attack, tough opposition. These 10innings are enough to prove him GREATEST BATSMAN EVER in the history of cricket. We are fortunate to watch you playing and having a living legend like you in India. Most humble human being who brought many glories to nation, a true gentleman of the game. Long live Sachin Sir
