If Sachin Tendulkar is a legend, let him perform as a legend. If he is mortal, he is to be treated with any ordinary player. He is in the team to score centuries, selfishly or otherwise. When he doesn't score one, he has no place in the team.
But this is not a time to shout when the series is over. Sad, that he had to be in the team at the mercy of the selectors and blessings of BCCI, than his own current performance.

Give some extra time for exceptional cricketers. He had failed in 2002 also just as in 2012. He bounced back that time. Let us see if he can get back to form in the early 2013. Even Ponting averaged only 33 in his last 25 Tests, far less compared to his career average! Still even Aus team gave him time to decide and see if the lack of form is irreversible or not. Sachin also deserves another few months to see if he can play like he did in 2010 or not. If he does not play like he did for 21 of the 23 years, he has to be told about two options - retirement or get back through sterling performances in domestic cricket.
no one is qualified to tell sachin to retire then maybe the selection committe be disbanded and those who ARE qualified be brought in...and if nobody in the country is qualified to do that then we can as well scrap the selection committe because it is disqualified to do anything...
why only sachin i doubt whether they are qualified to talk about other players of the team also....

retire and rest(out of form) are 2 different things, selectors have no right or even for that matter anyone has right to tell some sports person to retire, selectors can ask him to rest due to his poor form
I am really shocked by the kind of support that Sachin is getting from inside and outside the country. As long as gets this support he will paly another 10 years more support. You cannot be in office based upon what your achievements in the past.Sorry stae of affaris prevails in the country and BCCI as well
