Dhoni has a good point or two.
by Ravi on Dec 13, 2012 04:50 AM

I agree with Dhoni when it comes to opinions of ex-cricketers and players like Gavaskar, Amarnath, Bedi and others.

All of these guys with inflated egos are judgemental and cynical everytime. They never talk about the solution to the core problem.

At times their opinions are no different from a layman's opinion inspite of having had played the sport at the professional level for many years.

Also Dhoni is perfectly right about the Indian cricket fans. We think in extremes, believe in miracles and are too harsh on our own players. In short, as cricket fans, we are no different than a 5 year old kid. Thats what we seem to convey through our views and opinions.

Sad for Indian cricket.

Yes, Mr. Dhoni, you have said a lot.

Now, step down from the captaincy and leave the Indian test team. You have no business to be there!

Dhoni has no contribution in test cricket unlike Ganguly who scored many a century.Dhoni is ok for ODI.

India was good in test because of Laxman,Dravid,Tendulkar,Kumble,Zaheer and Harbhajan.

Laxman,Kumble and Dravid retired.
Zaheer,Tendulkar and Harbhajan lost their forms and prime age. Now,nothing is left in them except good enough talent to play Ranji trophy.

Delhi guys Gambhir and Sehwag are doing politics and showing Dhoni his real stature.

BCCI is a BunchOfJokers and selection committee is QuotaBased self appeasers.

If they really want a good team,they should include pacer Sandip Sharma(Punjab),All rounder R Dhawan(Himachal),All rounder ParvezRasool(J & K),Batsman JJSingh(Punjab),Spinner ArlenKonwar(Assam),Spinner ShahbazNadeem(Jharkhand),WicketKeeper (ParthivPatel),Batsman RavindraJadeja(Saurashtra).These all are dareDevil guys.

Tendulkar,Kohli,Dhoni,Zaheer,Ojha,Harbhajan, etc all needs to be rested as their mind is only on how much they will get in next IPL Auction. They are worried about this and not focusing on test cricket.

Sacrifice Dhoni,BCCI will gain both Gambhir and Sehwag's batting form back.Appoint Gambhir the captain.

Wow, so many new face playing for India as newcomers.

You are so intelligent. Good you are not Indian selector. This series could have been a lot more worse with most of the games ending within 2 days.

Om Shanti,I never expected you to compare Saurav and Dhoni batting achievements.Saurav up the order and Dhoni lower down.
You are saying Sehwag and Gambhir doing politics and also recommending Gambhir as captain. Don't you think Gambhir should be kicked out from the team after failing to contribute anything substantial in last two years?

Amarnath!
by Sudarsan on Dec 12, 2012 11:00 PM

Amarnath - stop blabbering nonsense!! Dhoni was responding to people who were asking him to quit captaincy, by saying "I don't want to shy away from the responsibility and I want to stay and make sure that I lead this team through the tough times". He didn't say that I want to stay with the team no matter what the selectors or the board thinks. He did say that the selectors are always there to take their decisions, but he is not going to quit BY HIMSELF. That's a very fair decision by Dhoni. Why should he quit? If you don't like him or want him, THROW HIM OUT! Same with Sachin Tendulkar. If you don't want him, THROW HIM OUT! If you don't have the guts to do it, DON'T BLAME HIM!

Absolutely ridiculous.

"Of course, we struggled in the last two Test matches, and if you ask big questions after two tough Test matches, I think, it will come in the future too where we will lose two Test matches and people will say all the youngsters should go out and somebody else should come in."

Two test matches, Dhoni? Have you forgotten the successive 4-0 thrashings in England and Australia?

This is exactly Dhoni's point.

You guys ask only questions. Provide a solution for a change, will you?

Ok, if Shoni steps down who will take his place? Do you want to expose a newcomer directly on a critical series.

For the time being the wise thing you can do is just be quiet and supoport the Indian team.

Dhoni - we are with you!

The captain speaks & how - years later when we look at cricket history & the greats who have graced the game, Dhoni's name will be right up there & the manner in which he is going about handling the lows that has hit him & Indian cricket (albeit ONLY in tests) shows the strong man he is! First of all, my opinion is Tests are NOT relevant anymore & though the self-proclaimed purists of the game would go sore talking about this format & the 'greatness' of it, the future of the game for the sake of cricket's shelf life is T20 & perhaps the 50-over format, where India & Dhoni are well placed for now & Dhoni as a captain plays his best! I as a cricket fan, am extremely happy & satisfied in the manner Dhoni is playing the 50 overs & T20 formats though to an extent, I feel we need to do better in T20's on the international level but this is an on going effort.

Can't believe the views..People who played cricket will know dhoni is nvr a proper batsmen..Its not abt T20 or Oneday..He has been pathetic with his strike rates in recent times in One days and T20's.. people who watches games closely, would agree tht we have lost quite a few oneday & T20 matches becos of his pace..Iam not supportng gambhir.. but remebr his comments abt dhoni leaving it till last over.. We won a game , but we lost too many in last 1 yr..
