This would be the possible playing 11
by asliSwadeshi on Dec 11, 2012 02:24 PM  | Hide replies

Gambhir
Sehwag
Pujara
Sachin
Kohli
Jadeja
Dhoni
Ashwin
Awana
Ishant
Ojha

12th man - Rahane.

Since the pitch at Nagpur has traditionally supported fast bowlers,Irfan would have been a better choice than Jadeja, but unfortunately he is not a part of the squad.

Agree. Irfan specially should have been considered for this series. He could come handy with the bat as well (in the lower order) rather than hairball Ishant Sharma.

Doing the same thing again and again but expecting a different result is foolishness

Are you telling this to:
1. Rediff (for posting this chat section),
2. Viewers (for expecting any change),
3. Out cricket team,
4. All of the above.

Bigger Problem
by J ADITYA on Dec 11, 2012 02:22 PM

There is no point of having any discussion if the team doesn't do well. Here is the problem, if India team plays well and win the game, the media is going to project as if we won the test champion ship "Karara Jawab Bharath Ka". The reality is that we are no longer a good side and serious changes have to be made. When money takes priority over quality this is what happens. I agree with Dravid, it's not just attitude it is the quality that has the problem. Besides Kholi and sometimes Pujara we don't see a good test batsman coming up. We need few batsmen who can play for an entire day without losing wicket, bowlers who can tirelessly work to get wickets. Warne, Murali and Kumble are great bowlers not just for the skill but the passion to fight. Our players lack both skill and passion. One thing these players have is over confidence that they will be payed well. The team needs to focus on performance alone. The board needs to save the test quality players other wise just surrender test playing status to avoid any humiliation.

Indian team does not have the potential
by RSS on Dec 11, 2012 02:22 PM  | Hide replies

To take 20 wickets. We desperately need to find 2 tall guys who can bowl really fast like Shoaib Akhtar, Brett Lee or Shane Bond.

We need 2 Spinners like a Shane Warne and a Muralitharan quality.

Bowling actions must be clean and approved by ICC as well.

India will lose the series 1-3
by Shirish Saha on Dec 11, 2012 02:18 PM

The selectors have made some changes for the Nagpur test but more changes are required for proucing positive result. The present Indian team is nomatch for the touring England side. What ever be the nature of Nagpur pitch viz. turning, bouncy or batsman paradise they will lose the series 1-3.
