Now I know why India Struggled for Independence
by RSS on Dec 08, 2012 11:41 PM  | Hide replies

If Winning a Cricket Match is so difficult against England we have to understand how many saaccrifiices Indians had to make to Free ourselves from The British rule.

A Greater struggle was necessary against the same eevil to avenge a 4-0 Whitewash and see how miserably

our team has let us down. I feel Pakistan team is a lot more Patriotic and has the "Ki11er Instinct" unlike this M0r0n Indian team led by L0ser Dhooobbii.

I guess even my Street's Sttrray D0ggs are Far more Aggressive than this listless team which gets overpaid and overhyped despite its pathetic performances.

After Kapil, none of the Indian cricketers have any killer instinct.

IPL?
by harsha a on Dec 08, 2012 11:25 PM

ban IPL, infact stop it! money, wine and women enough to spoil anybody! even Sachin is not spared. Modi's, Mallya's dnt run it to make profit. SPort is sport...keep it as it is. Only then we can get back the real game...the test matches. Atleast as a genuine cricket fan, I have stopped watching IPL since 2 yrs now.

the death of Indian test cricket..
by Saurabh Mishra on Dec 08, 2012 11:20 PM  | Hide replies

sadly folks, this is true. our players are more happy to rub shoulders with film stars, businessmen, and since most of them have never had money in their life(shouldnt blame them for this for we are a poor country)they have fallen into the hands of marketing gimmick rather than true country spirit. Its amazing how after winning world cup, they are lying flat and losing shamelessley with no spine in test matches. may b time now to call off test matches and INDIA should only participate in one dat and T twenty. And our beloved sachin is going the wrong way...till he makes a mockery of himself...idont think he will quit playing. Still there is time sachin...retire. Even if a player like him hits a century once in 15 test matches, its useless. We all know, still we wait. And Our beloved cricket is in the hands of businessmen, (who sadly dont have a clue about their own children, leave alone our team) and politicians, pawar, rajiv shukla, who can only talk...and are expert in making excuses.

hey do not pull Sachin into each and every discussion... this team does not deserve Sachin Tendulkar... and Indian cricket fans certainly deserve much better...

i know sachin need not be pulled into each discussion, but the one whom we expect the most, will also bear the brunt of non performance. may be more than the others, bcos he has been loved more than anyone else

that would be a separate discussion... not bundled with this... for this people like Dhoni and Sreenivasan should be targeted..

Bring in new blood ...
by Arv Singh on Dec 08, 2012 11:14 PM  | Hide replies

This Indian team needs some spanking and a complete overhaul. If I was the selector, I would replace the bunch these losers with youth, with an ey on the future:

1. Unmukt Chand
2. Jiwanjot Singh Chauhan
3. Cheteshwar Pujara
4. Virat Kohli (Capt.)
5. Manprit Juneja
6. Mandeep Singh
7. Uday Kaul (WK)
8. Umesh Yadav
9. Sandeep Sharma
10. Parvinder Awana
11. Harmeet Singh
12. Aparajith
13. M. Vijay
14. Shikhar Dhawan
15. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
16. Balvinder Singh Jr.

Selection should be on merit and not where the players come from. This regional quota and bias has been hurting Indian sports for years. Look at the results of Ranji Trophy with Punjab winning most of their games. If all eleven players from Punjab deserve to be in the team, then why not?

You also need to read before typing your response. My team has Pujara, Manprit, Yadav, Harmeet, Aparajith, Vijay, Bhuvneshwar and Balvinder Singh Sandhu Jr - Eight out of 16 are not from Punjab or Delhi.

yes why not... I never cried regionalism.. one Indian cricket fan pulling the leg of another... sorry if that turned out to be offensive...and I have read before typing my response... I know these players are not from Punjab/Delhi... but there is an obvious bias... apart from youngsters or relative inexperience you have to have some old warhorses from the domestic scene.. Pankaj Singh, Naman Ojha, Ashok Dinda, Robin Bist, Badrinath, Manoj Tewari..why don't their names feature in the merit list of future Indian team? it actually is an interesting discussion...

Now that makes more sense. I think Pankaj, Naman, Tewari, and Menaria deserve to be in the list. Not so convinced about the likes of Dinda, Badrinath and Chawla who had their opportunities but failed repeatedly in the past.

good that you mentioned Menaria, but eh please dont even mention Chawla... how many more chances will he get in t20 or odis? still he brings more to the table than Ashwin... ok but Dhoni comparing Chawla's "allrounder" abilities to Kapil paaji when he got picked for WC was indeed hilarious...

oh.. what a great solution!!!! Thanks to your enlightened words I have attained moksha!!!!

The problem is not with the players, as you saw sacking Harbhajan from the playing 11 made no difference whatsoever, the problem is with the coach Duncan Fletcher... These same players, who are being blamed today, performed extraordinarily when Gary Kirsten was the coach, but as soon as fltecher took over no one has performed to his ability...

Moreover the attitude and approach of the team is to be decided by the coach.. that is what he is being paid for...

so you see the sane solution would be to sack Duncan Fletcher...

When will the BCCI react?
by Bhasmasur on Dec 08, 2012 11:08 PM  | Hide replies

We already had a wake up call after the white wash in England. Andother one came after another whitewash in Australia.

How many Wake up call do we need? The reason is we're just incompetent bunch who are living in past. We don't dare to challenge and not ready for changes..

Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Dhoni would have been sacked or forced to retire long time ago if this was an Australian or English team..

Another comment which should have been made before they took six days break. He knew they did and he knew it wasn't right. Why didn't he say it then?

And where is that another Sachin Bhagat Shastri?

Team Selection
by subrat das on Dec 08, 2012 10:56 PM  | Hide replies

Selectors should takr tough call. Players not in form should be rested. Yuvraj, Kohli & Sachin should make way for Ravinder Jadeja, Tiwari and other player who are doing well in Ranji.

quite disgusting.....
by Sadhashiv on Dec 08, 2012 10:42 PM  | Hide replies

a country that boasts of 1 billion plus population, alongwith the richest cricket board can't find 11 good players to play this game.

Imagine what if SA, Eng or Aus had this luxury ???

This proves that stamina, fitness, talent and enthusiasm cannot be purchased with money. its something u need to have in ur genes, which Indians lack......

BTW, how India won the WC in 2011 without any bowlers is still a mystery........ that would always remain unsolved....
