Kohli is a great future prospect
by jai singh on Aug 27, 2012 05:20 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin changed the way cricket was played and has dominated bowlers for ages now... Virat is a young gun and shown lot of temperament... It will be nice if he can achieve even 70 to 80 % of what Sachin achieved...

All these idiots writing nonsense about SRT should know what kind of bowlers he has faced. He has defined indian cricket by bringing it on the map. Even greats like Allan Donald, Glen McGrath, Curtly Ambrose have praised him for his legendary contributions to Indian cricket. VK is a great prospect. He has a good temperament and is well talented and can succeed SRT. As you've rightly said, he is not comparable at this stage. May be after a few years.

i agree. for long i have felt that kohli's batting style resembled that of Ponting's. and his fielding and aggressive nature also is similar.

Shetty saab- You are right. Kohli has also shown his middlefinger, ponting also used to do such things thruout his career. Kohli resembles more with ponting not with sachin, dravid or vvs bcz dese 3 hvnt dn any sch thng ever.

If comparison is true, Kohli is also playing for personal records and not for the country.

His style is like Ponting...

Whether his aggression or fielding or approach to build an inning or captaincy.

He should have been compared with Ponting rather than Sachin.

Virat may also become
by Jew Cock on Aug 27, 2012 04:36 PM  | Hide replies

better than sachin, who knows? nobody has been able to foresee the future. did anyone know we were gona get such a gush of fresh talented cricketers? who knew unmukt chand a few days bk? he is popular in every household today! granted it is a daunting task to break sachin's records but one also must remember that sachin has flopped in so many of the matches that he played! the only thing virat should not copy from tendulkar is sticking around tooooooo long! when you have accomplished EVERYTHING, repeat EVERYTHING, it is better to call it a wrap! virat should learn that from greats like dilip sardesai!

Why comparision between players of different era. Gavasker faced Jeff Thomson (fastest bowler ever)& played Derack underwood on drying pitch. But he failed in newer format - ODI . SRT scored more than him but never palyed Jeff Thomson. Similarly SRT not made for T-20 . Virat will never face bowler like Donald & will always play on covered pitches.Even Dravid & Laxman have not seen anything from Botham ,Hadlee & Imran which SRT seen

Hence it is therefore players of different era should not be compared.

Talking about future may be always appropriate. Best example is Vinod Kambli. He had great potential but could not go a long way

Nothing wrong if Sachin and his son play for India in the same team or opposit to each other i IPLs. That will be a great day for India and for Sachin. I hope, Sachin will make ur dream come true !!!
