he is a great player and his batting is like a fantastic art..team India will surely miss him but lets hope that this works as an inspiration to the team and new players like kaif or Wasim Jaffar take the necessary responsibility to fill up his gap..

Let Laxman Retire&LET us Ban Test Cricket Forever too!Who cares for Boring and Poverty-producing and useless TEST CRICKET and Long duration ranji&duleep trophy cricket, etc??? THIS GAME OF CRICKET WAS INTRODUCED BY CROOKED AND WICKED BRITISHERS LIKE MAKING AND MARKETING OF MAHATMA AND non-violence dirty trick to make all majority hindus mmorrns and ennuchs and cowards forever and the past 64 years shows that the crooked britishers were successful to make us a BANANA REPUBLIC of majority morrons with their dirty games, we must BAN Test Cricket forever and WE must shout that we will not allow Boring and Poverty-producing and useless TEST CRICKET to make us poorer any more. One day cricket or t20 or t30 cricket ONLY must be allowed and THEY MUST BE ALLOWED TO BE PLAYED ONLY ON WEEK-ENDS OR HOLIDAYS so that we do not lose millions of working hours of men and women and youth any more and we do not remain poor forever due to useless and time-wasting and Boring TEST Cricket too. All patrrioti c citizens and sponsors MUST BOYCOT TEST Cricket and ranji and dulepp trophy cricket FORVER if they love the nation and want the nation to be super power in next 20 or 25 years too!

yes I also think that both one day and test cricket should be banned.
so it will save a lot of time of people
Media should promote swadeshi games like
Swimming ,Judo
Wrestling ,Gymnastics (rhythmic,artistic) ,diving , canoe salon,canoe sprint,trampoline
Fencing , Ar chary
Athletics(Heptathlon ,high jump long jump ,Javelin throw ,running , hurdles,Pole vault, marathon ,shot put, hammer throw, discus throw etc)

so that world will know that son's and daughters ofBHARAT are strong and have plenty of stamina
Promotion of these sports should be from school level to produce Olympic champions at least in swadeshi games Bharat should win all medals

guys respect a legend
by talk cool on Aug 17, 2012 08:15 PM

Giving away to Juniors is only point media etc are parroting and everyone are tuning the same song.
Give respect to elders. When they age and when they want to retire there is lot of tension they have to undergo. Just make it respectful.
Moreover, he did not get any due credit from Cricket feternity and fans.He is always backbone of India's wins and more importantly India's draws againt many oponents. I know draw no one counts but in terms of series decider and ranking that played a crucial rolel

Good news!

This is good news! But Sachin also doesn't announce his retirement now. It will leave a complete void. The trio were not the only guys responsible for the debacle in England and Australia. Yes they couldn't score, but a lot of other factors were responsible too. Sehwag and Gambhir failed to give a decent start, thereby putting heavy pressure on these ageing stars. Hope Sachin can continue till 2013 end and transition the newcomers into the test team.

He doesn't play for his private club ..he plays for the country. However good you may be at your govt services, you have got to retire at 58/60. Same applies here. Do you think he figures in the top11 cricket players at the moment? You dont teach me logic. I am an avid sports follower and know what I talk. If he had retired right after Aus tour stating, he couldn't too much and wants to vacate his place to groom others, I would have saluted him. What logic you see in him playing 8th ranked test team in a 2-test home series ????
