One more dig at Kapil by BCCI.
by Commentator on Oct 26, 2011 02:19 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI(Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri) might have suggested to Lele to take a dig at Kapil to keep him at bay as Kapil is trying to get closer to BCCI after the BCCI-ICL saga.

I completely agree with you. Current chairman of selectros once (1 or 2 year back)said that "India might get a Gavaskar or Tendulkar but it would never get another Kapil". It is so true. After Gavaskar we had Tendulkar but before Tendulkar leaving cricket we have Sehwag, who not only playes like Tendulkar but changes the fate of matches better than Tendulkar.

Kapil Dev .. The reason for crickets popularity in INDIA
by bala subramanian on Oct 26, 2011 02:01 PM

So what if Kapil shouted.. the captain should have made him bowl. Just bcos Kapil urged for some wrong decision you cannot take any credit away from Kapil. Its well known that Lele and Borde were from the other gang that wanted to sully Kapils Image. What ever it is Kapil Dev is the main inspiration for todays Cricket fans and cricketers.. including Sachin..

Captain is the ultimate authority on the field. His decision is final ,While Coach can only suggest. After reading this article it clearly suggest that Sachin was a weak and impotent Captain.Daredevils like Imraan or Saurav Ganguly must be laughing after reading this article.

Let us accept it Sachin was never a good captain and the best gentlemen you would ever find in the sport of cricket. If he'd wanted he could have spilled the beans. But he said it was a team decision. There is no need to laugh over it. Take his name with respect the next time you talk about Sachin.

If you were the captain and your coach would have told you this, you would have peed in your pants buddy. Besides we don't even know if this is indeed true. So don't make fun of someone who listened to someone (albeit by mistake). Keep quiet.

Hey Mofo Mamta Kulkarni or Rajesh Kulkarni Whatever u Are.Captain aim is to win games for his Country and not to listen to someone and obey.Captain can ignore anyone advice upon his own Will.Ironically Sachin is an honorary Group Captain in Indian Air Force i mean an officer so this is the way he should carry on ,by working on someone else decisions.

Mamta Kulkarni Coach cannot direct Captain to do certain things.Even many decisions are made after Team Approval Captain can Veto it at any moment.Captain should be more responsible because at the end of the day He is responsible for Win or loss ,no one cares for Coach. In this regard Imraan Ponting Ganguly Steve Waugh were great because they never tolerate any interference from anyone not even Selection Committee.

why after so many years
by biswanath roy on Oct 26, 2011 10:00 AM  | Hide replies

why did lele keep quiet all these years and come out with his version after 12 years of the incident taking place.had the follow on been endorsed was there any guarantee we would have won on the lifeless track at motera, ahmedabad. appears another example of scoop in ensuring book sales as shoaib akhtar, greg chappell have done.write something involving sachin and the gullible indians will swallow or react.

Lele is trying to save is face
by manjunath nagappa on Oct 26, 2011 10:00 AM  | Hide replies

Mr. Lele (who was got caught in match fixing scandal after 1 on the match he is speaking) is trying to save is face by trying to throw mud at Kapil's face. Manoj Prabhakar threw mud at Kapil's face and few days after running aroud the country trying escape from police on a cheating case. If people believe these guys most of our cricketers (who genuinely played for country) shall be called has match fixers. May be Lele had already fixed that India would follow on and since it didn't happen and must have lost an opportunity make some money so he is barbing at Kapil. These guys are sick and their words are ugly and dirty.

So for you if somebody cries on TV means he has done something wrong? what a logic? Kapil is a emotional person (like any other human) and proud individualof playing for the country. If some one accuses him of doing such heinous thing anybody would do so.

i am not a fan of lele, but i was one of the frustated individuals then, since the follow-on was not enforced...

I understand that while investigating the matter for match-fixing/betting, CBI questioned Kapil on this point. "Sachin was also called as a witness, and I am told that he deposed that it was a team decision"

This is where Sachin (even Rahul) is most mature; never say thigns which can fuel gossips etc.
.
He must have been sort of embarrased, to reverse his decision, but still went on to say it was a team decision when questioned...

Someoen, in palce of Sachin, could have easily said,...actually i wanted to and even.....but blah blah
enforce
