Mr. Naseer, I hope you saw yesterday's match and can you say how many donkeys were there in English team? English Fielding was below standard.

Question to BCCI and selectors
by Orient Mystique on Oct 18, 2011 08:59 AM  | Hide replies

What is the use of holding the Challengers Trophy played by three India teams - Red, Blue and Green, if performances there are not counted while selecting the Indian team for the remaining three ODIs of the ongoing series against England?

On the one hand, Ajinkya Rahane is struggling to score even singles during the first power play of 10 overs, thereby bringing more pressure on Parthiv to score runs and in the process getting out cheaply twice in two ODIs so far.

On the other, Mukund, Uthappa and Anirudh have each scored hundreds in the challenger trophy as openers. Mukund is in fact the top scorer in the tournament.

It is all right to talk about retaining a player and giving him enough chances before dumping, but what about the pressure brought on the later batting order?

Can one say with any kind of gurantee that in the remaining three ODIs India can defend small totals or chase big totals if the openers continue to flop?

you have a point..selectors should consider this as rahane can very well be back with his performance..

Exactly!!it applies to all teams as you the conditions very well than the touring side..Definitely India is better as you see the world cup runners up,Srilanka lost even in the home ground against australia....Remember India is fielding a depleted side...

Captain fool record as folllows-

Dhoni test average outside
In WI 2006, 24
In SA 2006, 26
In AUS 2007, 17.62
In SLK 2009 17.5
In SA 2011, 35.8
In WI 2011- 19.5 (last series)
( score of 0,16,2, 5 & 74(only one good inning when WI was operating with bowlers like bishoo/chandrapaul & front line bowler rampaul/shammi etc was resting due to injury).
In Eng 2011- 29 (last series)

Also dhoni after playing 27 T-20 intl has not scored a single fifty, no match winning inning, no MOM & pathetic strike rate of 105 (one of the lowest for any batsman in T-20 at his batting position)
In ODI overseas also he is a big failure as batsman who never perform when require due to limited batting ability & has hardly won any important ODI outside india with his batting.
He is a flop wicketkeeper also in last 3 series where dropped many catches.

Dhoni is best
That’s why doing rest.
hehehe
