BCCI has done a great job for cricket and cricketers there can be no denying that. The organisation has turned the game into a money spinner for the country thanks to the fact that it is headquartered in Mumbai where a culture of promoting excellence prevails. The success of the body has attracted the attention of the northie dominated government which wants to wrest control in the name of bringing in transparency and plunder the resources. Why is BCCI an exception as against other sports bodies like IHF, football associations that have gone to seed due to incompetence and politics of the powers that be. Keep BCCI from the grasp of the likes of Ajay Maken and others who should be setting things right with other sports bodies rather than targeting BCCI.

rigtly said. If it goes to govt body controlled by northys- all cricketers will not have even money to eat like waht ahappening in other sports body. all money will be eaten by politicain & burecrat.
As a sports body,BCCI has come has trumps,it far exceeds in management then the Olympics assoc of india, the hockey federation and football assoc.Agreed there are flaws, but to run cricket administration in india is not easy. In the best interest,BCCI should be allowed to run other sports in india as well!

but bcci is not in a position where it has to promote cricket.. it has a relatively easy job because of a cricket crazy nation.. hockey or badminton struggle to get sponsors for an event.. its all abt eyeballs... bcci is chased by them
and bcci's thing is behaving like a superbrat.. it is one organization that can't even play cricket between staff because most of them can't hold a bat but rule indian cricket like a lord n master
There is nothing wrong to blame the BCCI. It is exactly correct to do that. BCCI has used its strenght and money power to suppress ICL and SL cricket league. They even tried to dominate the ICC and Auss board during the Bhajji-symo monkeygate. I am not supporting symonds or going against Bhajji. But can we really say that Bhajji is a good cricketer who doesn't abuse players? Take another example, this Champions 20/20 league where top teams from the world are supposed to compete. Past 2yrs 3 tems from Indian league have participated whereas teams from other countries only 2 max. This year they even went further, 3 teams directly qualified and 1 had to go qualifying round. Whereas for top team like SL and New Zealand(only 1) had to go through qualification and unfortunately they were eliminated. So in the coming years, more Indian league teams will play for CHampions League and other country teams will have to go for qualification round. This is pathetic, where BCCI uses its money clout to add more Indian teams just bcoz the sport is popular here. Also they have kept on craming cricket throughout the year, which is like an overdose.
