Becoz his Avg in India is 21 against Australia, hence people without analyze skill thinks he is good against Australia in Australia as well.
But as write wrote, No off-spinner has done well in Australia. Even G Swann after much talked success had his Avg read 39 in the Ashes series.
I would be happy if our spinners able to have an Avg below 40.

Let see, I guess depend on Zak. If Zak plays he will go with Ashwin if not P Ojha.
We should consider the service he has given to Indian cricket in last few years. He has never been in bad form like some of the young guns in recent past. Media and people of India have hyped his 100th ton. He never talks abt it. When whole world has accepted his greatness we should not target him Whenever India looses and he hits a century everybody targets him. That is not right. When we talk or write abt it, we should seriously do some research and study abt his performances. When somebody wins you a match for couple of times we praise him but do not think abt Sachin's performances in last 22 years. He has plyed matches in every country and on all pitches. When these young guns will play that many matches then only we can compare him with them. Also do not compare him to likes of Ponting and all. They have played their matches on different conditions and different circumstances. Ponting's team has always support of their bowlers. Australia has always been in great frma of mind when they play matches because of all good players. Sachins has played matches from the days of Kapil. And we know how that team was in 90's. We need some introspection when we talk abt Sachin.

he was out of form lot of times.but powerful mumbai lobby in BCCI saved him.He along with Ganguly, dravid, laxman did worse in 2007 ODI world cup. While other's ODI career ended after world cup,Sachin still got in Indian team.Lot of time after dhoni became Captain, wenever Tendulkar is out of form,he himself announces a break and himself claims match fit and enter into the team directly...If ur place is assure like him, even u will play and score runs.He contributed lot...but its high time to give chance to youngsters... our cricket fans should atleast appreciate Laxman and dravid.....
Enough is enough.Bhajji should have been sacked long back when he slapped the dancing bowler and also when he said Maa ki to australian bats man. bhajji became proudish with in a time when he got little success. Keeping him away form indian team is a good reward for him.
Mr Manu you are a f**t to think Bhajji got under the skin of the Aussies..Yes,he may have but not thru his cricketing prowess or deeds..For that matter Sreesanth can get under the skin of anybody including Dhoni..What a waste of an article
the weakness of the aussies is fast and swing bowling..we have seen the aussies struggle against the SA pacemen but they played well against the lankan spinners and won the series..i would go with 4 fast bowlers if the condition demand or 3 1.

both of you are mad! Dhoni is the captain and a good batsman, plus above average as a WK.. Dravid is 39 and is dropping catches at slips already.. Imagine what will happen if Dravid becomes the WK.. Also we need a variety in our attack.. 3 right arm fast bowlers will bring no variety!

Also remember, Dhoni has brought 2 world cups to Indian table.. the only captain after Clive Loyd and Ponting.. The team was also no.1 in test ranking till sometime ago..

The team was #1 in tests because most of the tests were played on sub-continental pitches..... And with a performing team, anyone can bring a world cup to their table. And please dont credit the performances of Yuvraj & Gambhir (who were the major contributors in WC) to Dhoni saying he was the reason they played well :) Apart from Dravid, none of the others played well in England. We saw what Dhoni did during that time, just gave silly excuses & reasons before finally accepting that he did not have luck :) Dhoni definitely needs to improve his wicket keeping skills and be a better batsman overseas.
The writer, Manu Shankar, is deliberately misleading readers with snide remarks regarding Sachin & Laxman's contributions the last time India toured Australia. One look at the records exposes his lie. Maybe its his regional bias thats exposed. The least the Rediff editorial staff could do is ensure that atleast their content is factually accurate.

Sydney is the only wicket in Aus with some turn! All other pitches favour pace bowling!
