Why 4 bowlers only?
by Dinesh Bajaj on Nov 23, 2011 10:57 PM

What is the rationale of playing 4 bowlers only when there is no genuine all-rounder in the team? We have a word-famed batting line-up of Specialist batsmen and Dhoni can also bat decently-atleast in the home conditions-they why, just why, we act so cowardly and field only four specialist bowlers?
When Dhoni will shed his ultra-defensive mindset? It really pains me to see the defensive approach of the Indian captain. At the first sight of a batsman looking to play freely, Dhoni removes close-in fielders or the fielders inside the 30-yard circle, and thereby concedes easy singles, which results in the pressure removed from the opposition batsmen.
Indian can never ever be world's top team for some decent period of time if they continue to play with such a defeatist mindset. They look to be playing to avoid defeat at any cost, instead of playing positively and aspiring for win.

ASHWIN'S COMMENTS ON THE PITCH WAS NOT IN GOOD TASTE.ASWIN IS A NEWCOMER AND HE SHOULD NOT PASS COMMENTS LIKE AN EXPERIENCED CAMPAIGNER.WE HAVE NEVER SEEN THE GREAT ANIL KUMBLE OR HARBHAJAN PASSING COMMENTS ON THE PITCH. ANY WAY YOU CANNOT EXPECT THE 1ST DAY OR 2ND DAY PITCH TO ASSIST THE SPINNERS.IT IS ONLY ON THE 4TH DAY OR 5TH DAY THE PITCH ASSISTS THE SPINNERS.THE GREAT KAPILDEV TOILED HARD ON FLAT INDIAN PITCHES. HE NEVER COMPLAINED ABOUT THE PITCH.MOREOVER ASWIN'S COMMENTS THAT INDIA WOULD HAVE NOT GOT ANY WICKETS BUT FOR HIS EFFORTS SHOWS A BOASTFULL ATTITUDE.REMEMBER ASHWIN YOU HAVE A LONG FUTURE AHEAD. LEARN HUMILITY FROM THE LIKES OF YOUR ILLUSTRIOUS TEAM MATES LIKE SACHIN,DRAVID AND LAXMAN.

Ashwin..
You said "If I hadn't tried in that last spell we might have gone without a wicket on the day.". Thats not straight talking, looks like boasting.
if india had batted first I doubt you would have been complaining like this"

Welcome to the Test cricket. its a battle, somedays u win, some days u toil hard. If you dont know ask bajji or Kumble. If you dont have patience, you will be out of test cricket in no time.
