WC semi finals
by pkr ramesh on Nov 21, 2011 07:22 PM  | Hide replies

Kolkotta semi finals was a shame on cricket fans Let me narrate what I did After the match was declared in favour of SL I was disturbed, like any other fan.I managed to get a copy of PILCOM rule book where it stated very clearly that the match should be re played in a empty stadium next day. I was shocked and tried to contact retd players some of whom agreed to my view. Then to stay the Finals I approached some lawyers in Suprme court who agreed and wanted to stay the finals Being a holiday we went to Chief Justices House where he went thro the papres and said that since the match was being played in Pakistan indian courts had no say. Do you know wo is the real culprit ? I dont want to mention it Cricket lovers can Guess Part of my legal effort was reported in THE HINDU Looking back I feel officials are also part of this rigging going on Players are not alone. If any one can manage to get PILCOM rule book please read and you will know who is the michief maker

You r absolutely right, all matches r fixed at ICC and national cricket boards level. Cricket has become just like WWF its all staged, so watch it as a movie & enjoy. 2011 WC is even better than any movie can be. If I make a movie on cricket then I would definitely want India to play in the finals of WC and that too in Mumbai cause Sachin is playing and at last India to win even after a pathetic start. Kudos to ICC for such a blockbuster and catering to Indian ego and making $ in return.

A Lot of doubts raised, requires answer
by RAJESH KUMAR on Nov 21, 2011 06:13 PM  | Hide replies

Definelty there are a lot of questions to be answered in this match if you watch carefully

1.Why Srinath was given only 7 overs when he was in Crushing form
2. Why Kumble was not removed from bowling even after being hit by Srilankan
batsmen
3.How come such a strong batting line up start perishing into such a low score from 83/1

the previous match against srilanka we were demolished by batting first srilanka were in a very good form throughoout the touranament esp chasing that is why the decision to feild was taken and suggested by all arm chair experts and real experts days before the match in all fora. Also remember the ODI game also changed with this WC in the way the first 15 overs were played which was trend setting by the lankan openers then. Also note that the strategy to field was to contain the lankan openers in the first 15 overs which was
successful. blame the outcome on three factors
1. poor pitch
2.unruly eden crowd
good bowling by jayasuriya

Ravi Shastri's comment

I remember, Ravi Shashtri commenting after Sachin Tendulkar's wicket fell, his words were "perhaps this is a beginning of sliding down". Like Ravi Shashtri knew what was coming !

It is the way u look at the glass of water..Half empty or half full.

He was born in slums of kanjurmarg to an abusive father.
He travelled in a lugage compartment ..daily to dadar
Now when he started travelling, he was just 11-12 years old in really crowded trains
But he did all this to chase his dreams. How would do that
He was an attention seeker with his antics and that was because of his background.
Yet he averaged 50 and yet was hardly given chance to comeback as his captain did not support him. Unlike yuvraj who averages 35 and yet he is being given numerous oppurtunity with captain dhoni supporting him

Azhar says that he does not have any class.

But What class does a traitor has by wearing expensive clothes and expensive cars???

Azhar is a traitor and Kambli a true partiot

I happened to be at the stadium that fateful day. While entering the stadium,I heard that India won the toss and chose to bat!I was horrified and told my wife that Azhar was the biggest fool I had heard of.Any child in Kolkata knew that the Eden pitch was totally unsuitable for batting secnd. At that time, there were quite a few matches played where the team batting second were decimated. The pitch used to be of very poor quality and the pitch would crumble and become a dust bowl in the second innings. The whole world knew except Gajar-uddin!!!
The results were there for the world to see. Also see the score of all the match fixers.Prior to this, there were certain events in Sharjah...Azhar talking on a cell phone while fielding,India being forced to play in bad light with car headlamps being switched on and india losing the match which cricket lovers taking note of such actions at the time.Hence,it was a continuation of the nefarious activities of a few, including India's then captain.
The revealations of such misdeeds a few years later in the match fixing scandal was only a logical conclusion.Do not blame Kambli-he is speaking the truth at last! The properties of all these match fixers-Azhar,Jadeja,Mongia,Prabhakar etc should be confiscated and they should serve prison terms of at least 5 years. Why did the Congress choose to rehabilitate this crook?

What about Sachin half the team was fixing matches and were was Sachin. Even his dismissal is suspect, can't imagine that he knows nothing about it. By not speaking out even he's a suspect in fixing.

Kambli should Save his Own Status- FAN
by Raman C on Nov 21, 2011 05:31 PM

Dear Kambli, FOR Die-Hard Fans like us it is tough to digust the comments what u r making now a days on ur beloved friend and BCCI... You have lots of fans till date no one can deny, however it is important to realize the present status of cricket and forms of players. By the time when Dravid, Ganguly were presented we understand that u were in bad form despite of given 9 come backs which no other player in the world crick has got... Your form has dropped bcoz of ur personal behavior nothing else... As a great fan fan u, we were all disappointed due to ut continued failures to stabilize ur place in the domestic as well as international team... It is high time for u to concentrate on personal front and move ahead rather than making such lousy comments to spoil ur existing name in the cricket world.. This is our humble request
