Further evidence in bowling changes tactics are evident when Shrinath had a spell of only 7 overs,where he took 3 for 34.For some reasons Jadeja was given 5 overs where he conceded 31 runs without wicket.Also Shrinath was promoted ahead of Jadeja while india was chasing.The Score card resembles a fixed match. Poor Kambli cannot be wrong.

MR. AZHARUDDIN IS VERY NICE PERSON AND GENTLAMAN. HE IS BEING HARRASHED BY SOME BIAS AND NARROW MINDED PEOPLE.
MR.KAMBLI IS NOT SOUND MIND PERSON HE LACK CHARACTOR AND DETERMINATION. HE ALWAYS WANT PUBLIC SYMPATHY FOR ALL HIS MISCHIEVIOUS ACTIVITIES. HE DID NO JUSTICE TO THE FAITH OF BCCI AND CRICKET LOVER GAVE HIM.

All those who support match fixers are traitors and anti national. This 'nobal' man has been banned for LIFE . He has not been prosecuted as there is no provision in IPC for match fixing !

This comes under SECTION 409 of ipc, BREACH OF TRUST AND MIS UTILIZING POSITION.He was not prosecuted because there is no evidence found. To smooth things he was awarded a life ban.Any way his time is over by then.
Give it a thought,in those days teams batting first usually won the match,and this was a world cup semi.India had earlier beaten pakistan in quarters while batting first.Ofcourse they lost to Srilanka,but that was a group stage match,not a do or die semis. Not to take any credit away from Srilanka,but india had better chance defending.Ok the decision to field might have taken in team meeting,but whose idea was it?Maybe azhar just suggested and everyone just nodded,maybe only Kambli had got suspicious!maybe he had his reasons..Sachin is likely to keep quiet,much as he is doing now,manjrekar would be in the same mould,Jadeja was definatley in league with azhar,that leaves Kambli.Apart from sachin every player in the team were in poor form,Sachin in his previous match had scored 130 against SRILANKA,while batting first.Azhar had a bad tournament,so was the decision to chase shady.Kambli accusation is valid,even myself was preety shocked when Azhar choose to field,the match was fixed.
What if Kambli was right!There is every chances of one player knowing the fact isn'it! Those were the days when team batting first usually won the match,unless a spectacular effort from the team batting second.Of course Sri lanka had beat india in the league stages,but those were pressure less games. in the hindsight,even i was shocked when india decided to chase and that also in eden gardens of all places.Apart from Sachin and Manjrekar,almost all threw their wickets.Jadeja and azhar came and went,is not suspicious enough.Were'nt they later indicted for match fixing?Not sure that this certain match was fixed,but it was definately shady decision.Well lets agree that the decision was taken in the team meeting,but who influenced the decision?Cricketers like sachin and manjreker would have been neutral,as in their mentally,they would have had the confidence of chasing,but did they realize what was to follow?i remember a match in Pakistan where india was chasing well with Kambli at crease,then Azhar comes and runouts kambli and then runouts himself.Azhar definately has skeletons in his cupboards. At this point BCCI should enquire,and get to the bottom of this.What happened in the team meeting?Who suggested the idea of chasing?Was the decision unanimous?And why is Sachin quiet?Was he unhappy with the decision?Forget ajit wadekar,ask all the 11 members of the team! What if Kambli was right?

Kambli may be right.. or wrong. That is a different case. But Sri Lanka was the better team in the whole WC 1996. They had better batting, better bowling attack, better fielding outfit and also better captaincy. Thats why they won all the matches and the cup.

U r right,india had good record at home then,also the match against Srilanka india had a narrow loss,Sachin had scored a run a ball 134.Azhar threw the semi final match
Kambli might have been illuminated lately with age and time, how the institutions and sports bodies were working behind the scenes with latest developments on Match Fixings in case of Pakistan or IPL gotcha.
Kambli might have got confidence as there is better awareness among people, media, judiciary than those days, where players were just lackey's to the discipline imposed on them by boards and institutions.
Had Kambli told those in those days, no one would have believed than BCCI!!.

dont start a vote on selecting a team for test match against wi. just start a voting page to know what ppl think abt 1996 semi final whether it was fixed or not. 90% vl say it was fixed except for bcci supporters.

He travelled in a lugage compartment ..daily to dadar Now when he started travelling, he was just 11-12 years old in really crowded trains...That is real hardship But he did all this to chase his dreams. How many would do this??? He was an attention seeker with his antics alright but that was because of his background. He averaged 50 and yet was hardly given chance to comeback because his captain did not support him. Unlike yuvraj who averages 35 and yet he is being given numerous oppurtunity with captain dhoni supporting him.

Dude, Yuvi was the man of the tournament in the WC. Kambli was a failure, sachin gave him lot of chances but failed. Yuvi is dropped when he could not play test matches what else u want dhoni to do against him.

U don't know much. Kambli scored century & double century much before Sachin even though Sachin debuted a couple of years earlier. Sobers said Kambli is a better batsman than Sachin. The reason Sachin stayed on even though he failed a few occasions but not Kambli because Kambli came from poor and lower end of society.

Kambli was better batsmen then Yuvi by a long way.Consecutive double hundred in tests.All shots in the book.If he was a bit more cautious,he would have bettered all of sachins record.
