Uthappa's technique is not for test cricket. It suited more for t20. To me Pujara is the best choice but he suffering from knee injury

VK will make into 11
by kiran kumar on Nov 17, 2011 09:27 PM  | Hide replies

Kohli will make into the 11, Rohit will have to sit on the side lines. I would personally prefer Raina replacing Yuvi because he is a left hander.

Yes. raina is my preference among young players. I guess Raina and Kholi are going to play next world cup and they should play as much as possible. Yuvi and Bhajji are the weekest link and they have correctly removed them. Though we can never forget yuvi's contribution in the WC.

Atleast they show their mettle in this games and prove to the selectors and themselves that they can do well in the longer format.

Rohit: Gud choice as 12th Man
by archana gupta on Nov 17, 2011 09:14 PM  | Hide replies

With Yuvi loosing out on numerous occassions, it was inevitable that Virat be given a chance. But Rohit is inconsistant, and shall never be a permanent Test Playre

Virat Kohli was a total failure in the 3 tests he played against WI in WI,don't look at his recent exploits in the shorter format,he was found wanting against the short pitch stuff as well as his temperament.Think ,Rohit should be given a chance to prove his mettle in the longer format.Since these guys have age on their side, they should be made to work on their short comings before they become assets to the national team.

Why should Sharma be given a chance when his record in first class cricket is inferior to Rahane?

Avg 63 versus 69, hundreds 12 versus 18, runs 3600 odd versus 4800 odd for roughly the same matches 45 versus 49?

Your "Virat" in first class cricket has 33 matches 2207 runs at average of 52 odd with 7 hundreds.

Ajinkya Rahane has 49 matches 4838 runs at average of 69 odd with 18 hundreds.

But Virat deserves a chance??? FOR WHAT?

What about a Ranji team having only discards. Irfan Pathan, Balaji, etc
