Sachin would try to get Century on 4th Day
by Kamaljit Singh on Nov 16, 2011 01:28 AM

If West Indies gets out before tea tomorrow, India is unlikely to force a follow on. Sachin would come in at the fall of the first wicket and would have time till Lunch on Day 4 to score a century. Post that it would be West Indies Annhilation. This is confirmed team meeting news for this evening.

This media hype of star players is not just particular to India. In Aus also Mike Hussey has saved Aus from crisis but gets sidelined by Ponting and Clarke. In SA, Kallis and Amla are unsung heroes compared to Smith or deVilliers.

Approach to 2nd Test an overkill not needed..
by Nikhil Shah on Nov 15, 2011 11:53 PM  | Hide replies

Having won the last WI tour 1-0, there was not need for India to carry on till late onto the day and score 600 . An early declaration at 500 was sufficient.

I am not sure how it will improve Indian cricket with big centuries, and a spin oriented attack on tailor made pitches.

If Dhoni had declared early he would have had a chance to give Yadav and Sharma a complete spell, instead they carried on till the light faded away and had to resort to spin.

The plan for the bowlers now is uphill for the next 2-3 days, where they will have to bowl 180-250 overs to get the remaining 18 wickets.

Yuvraj has to contribute as a bowler and the workload of each bowler evenly distributed. Otherwise Ishant, in particular with will be jaded to play in Australia just like the last England tour.

The focus has to be not only winning but concentrate on keeping the players fresh and injury free, and prevent burnout.

The next 200 overs India bowls has to be evenly distributed and Dhoni tends to overuse the spinners to get wickets, something that will cause a problem for the next and upcoming tour of Australia.

Sacin fans ki bolti bandh :)

Whenever you say anything negative about Sachin, his fans pounce upon you like a pack of hounds. Instead of having a healthy debate, most of them start swearing at you and give a meaningless set of statistics. Highest this, fastest to reach that, etc, etc, most of which has been accumulated in a 22 years period. Forget world, he is not the best batsman in his own country, not even second best. The only thing extraordinary about his record is the complete lack of quality innings. Anyway, soon we will have a series against Bangladesh and his fans may rejoice :)

poor sameer,
laxman n dhoni scored centuries after 30 innings, sachin hs nt scored for last 11 innings n still u expect him to score centuries. this proves his greatness.

also yesterday u wr posting crap abt opening batsman centuries bt u dnt even knw that he hs the best average of scoring centuries among all oder players.

sachin 48/453 = 9.43
ponting 30/370 = 12.33
jayasuriya 28/445 = 15.89
ganguly 22/311= 14.13
gibbs 21/248=11.80
anwar 20/247=12.35
gayle 19/228=12.0
lara 19/299=15.73
m waugh 18/244=13.55
haynes 17/238= 14.0
kallis 17/317=18.64
astle 16/223 = 13.93

their is a term called 'average' which a person usually learns in class III, sad to knw that u cudnt study beyond class II.

again i wud lyk to write, dnt post rubbish if u dnt understnd cricket :)

Ok. Lara - Sydney, Kingston, Bridgetown, Antigua. Dravid - Eden, Headingley, Adelaide, Kingston, Rawalpindi. Two great cricketers(there are more, of course) I rate much, much higher than Sachin. Now mention one - just one test innings played by your idol better than any of the above innings played by these players. Ok. Maybe Perth. Even that was in a losing cause

sameer,
sachin scored 241 bt match ws drawn bcz of bowlers failure, dravid scored 233 n match ws won bcz agarkar bowled exceptional. cricket is a team game, even after sachin's brilliant innings, oders fail, thn its nt sachins fault. sachin 136 vs pak n 175 vs aus r 2 such examples whr oders didnt contribute. dravid played exceptional in england bt team lost all the matches, so acc to u dravid shud b held responsible. isnt it ?

bradman himself considered sachin best, glad to knw that my Indian brother i.e u understnd cricket more thn poor bradman :)

sachin tendulkar
by solid singh on Nov 15, 2011 09:23 PM  | Hide replies

22 years in cricket, most no of games. what is so special about it. tomorrow you induct a 15 year old in the team & let him play till the age of 40 , he will better all the records.

greatness is when you score most runs in least no. of games like richards , sobers etc. more over if you can not win matches for india in cruch situations , you are playing for records. in england he was a failure and in india -at home he has failed to leave his impact on the game.

solid singh,
special is to keep high average in scoring runs n tons even after so many matches, n oders lack this speciality.

as far as playing in crunch condition is concerned, pressure arises whn sachin departs. dere r dozens of examples whn team failed whn sachin got out.

also why dnt oders play 4 records, cz runs r alwez added to OWN TEAMS TOTAL, NOT OPPOSITION. ISNT IT :)

others are talented too - dravid , sehwag , yuvraj , gambhir, in s r t's case it is a question of over rating & overhype. what talent -the man can't withstand presuure even after 22 years in intle cricket.

Media and Sachin celebrating his 22 Years International Cricket
by km vb on Nov 15, 2011 07:48 PM  | Hide replies

When Dhoni, Dravid and Laxman made centuries for India, Sachin is celebrating his 22 Years International Cricket.
BCCI should use its power and do some thing that Sachin should score 100th ton to announce his retirement.

Why, unnecessary, create hype in media, about a century? What is there in 100centuries? Sachin has done enough, and this mark of 100 s no landmark?
