Initially I used to think Dhoni has succeded by playing politics and suppressing other "good keepers" like Parthiv, KKD etc. But 200 dismissals in test cricket (highest by Indian keeper) and 50 batting average in ODI, one T20 Worldcup and ODI worldcup is definetly not a joke. Also the stats seems to keep him there with the best among the world.
Dhoni a hard core politician & having thick skin. He is never going to retire on his own unless kicked. he is like lalloo of cricket. Any normal captain after whitewash in test series or two successive wcup 1st round exit in T-20 wcup 2008/2010 could have resigned but this manipulator will never do it.

Wow yaar!!u hate MS like a kid hates school..Anywz how do u explain the 2 world cups, 2 ipl and the champ league victories under his captaincy??(Plz don't say he is lucky:))
Only best batsman of any team open batting in ODI/T-20 & bats at no.3 or no.4 in test. It is a hard known fact. Dhoni started his career as opener only with some success that also agianst b grade pak bowling on indian pitch. But once his limited batting ability was exposed, he was not allowed to do opening. Now after he took captaincy- still he couldn't dare to open inning in any format of game because he himself knows about his limited batting ability & it is not good for his team. He doesn' dare to open even in IPL. he knows it is most difficult thing to do is opening & playing in top order & he can't survive there against quality bowler. Even parthiv patel can do better opening than ordinary dhoni. Make dhoni opener in all format of game- his carrer will finished within 1 yrs as he will never last more than 2 overs agianst quality bowling. Batting at his position is easiest thing to do. In IPL many of captains & wicketkeeper like sachin, gambhir, patel, gilly, sangarkara,mclumn, etc has opened the ining but dhoni never dared to do it because of his team interest( he knows he can't last long & opener has large role to play in any win in ODI/T-20

and what else do u want him to do.. open the bowling also? Sachin is a coward who only thinks selfishly about his interest.. Dhoni is the only cricketer who talks about developing youngsters..

Compare him with other wicketkeeper batsman like sangarkara, Mclumn, Gilcrist, Mat prior etc. He is not even 10% of them in performance burt earn 10 times more than them just by manipulation & politics. Why to compare him with other ordinary indian wicketkeeper batsman. On performance he could have been kicked out long before in test/T-20 but continue due to political reason. No other wicketkeeper batsman have got so many chances even after repeated failure. Patel/kartik etc are dropped after every one series failure but this politicain continue even after repeated failure inh test/T-20 intnl
