SAHCHIN ALREADY PROVED BEST BATSMAN AND REAL MATCH WINNER. NOW ITS PROVED THAT HE IS ALSO A BEST CAPTAIN IN THE WORLD. PREVIOUS IPL UNDER SACHIN CAPTAIN MI CAME TO FINAL. THIS IPL ALSO IN GOOD POSITION UNDER SACHIN CAPTAINCY. WHEN SACHIN IS IN GOOD FORM, GAGULY WAS GREAT CAPTAIN, WHEN SACHIN IN INJURIERS, GANGULY LOST THE CAPTAINCY AND THE PLACE IN TEAM. NOW SACHIN IN TREMENDOUS FORM, SO FAR DHONI IS GREAT CAPTAIN. WHAT WILL BE FUTURE OF DHONI, IF SACHIN GETS RETIRE?

if he retires, some new face from mumbai joins the team and sets various individual record for himself as gavaskar and sachin. Throw all his record in dustbin. Look at the record created by Dhoni, 1) Won T20 WC, Won T50 world cup 3) Won T20 IPL 4) Won CLT T 20 and 5) No. 1 in test ranking. YOu say sachin is a great captain. What has he won???? Give me the list.

Every single successful captain in the cricketing world has one thing to say: "The captain is only as good as his team."
When Sachin was the captain, he did not have a good team that could beat the best in the world. Just imagine that only once did India tour with their two best fast bowlers to South Africa (Srinath & Prasad). We never had good opening batsmen till Sehwag and Gambhir got together (in Test matches).
A few great captains I can think off is Clive Lloyd, Border, Kapil Dev, Stephen Flemming and Hansie Cronje. Each of these captains had revolutionized cricket in their country. Clive Lloyd brought in the fast bowlers, Border won the world cup with unheard players, Kapil Dev's devils won the world cup when no one gave them a chance, Stephen Flemming was a brilliant captain who won matches with his tactics and Hansie Cronje brought the best in his team.
Now, Dhoni can be considered one of the greats if he wins a series in Australia or South Africa. He already has achieved what no other Indian captain could. However, he got a team that was built by Sourav Ganguly and mentored by Sachin, Dravid, Kumble, Srinath etc.
If Sachin had the present team, he could have won a lot more. I'm not saying that he would have over accomplished what Dhoni has achieved, but his win percentage would be far better.
Not all great players make great captains. Very few do both. Very very few can be both and also hold most records.
Is an individual achiever but not a team achiever. That tag belongs to Dhoni and Dhoni alone.
If Sachin played an individual sport like tennis, he would have been world no:1 for a straight 10 years!
When Sach started playing, amassing runs especially in tests was a great thing. He might have had Sunny as the idol for he had the max 100s at that time. These days nobody seems to care for test achievements.
