has ruled out the use of three spinners ..bcos ahmedabad does not offer turn..So it is going to be chawla with Harbhajan..When India exits --it is bcos of full northies.

LOL....pls check the records of Indian team after Yuvi,Dhoni,SehwagMGaambhir,Raina,Praveen,Kohli,Bhajji came to indian team...and check when team was full of Mumbaikar and players from south with no disrespect.Ur own Srikanth was scared like a puppy when playing Akram and nobody dares to say a word when Western players used to abuse them.Look now.TIT FOR TAT...Just look at record against Pak..the truth will come out..speak out after u have stats with u..I AM SAYING THIS TO SUPPORT NORTH INDIAN,COZ I BELIEVE IN INDIA.but only to answer ur question.so no offence.
Pace vs Spin. Tomorrows match is a classic pace vs spin match. Australian pace vs Indian spin. If India have to chase and Australia score 250 , forget it India loses. If India bat first they would need to score 290 to win. The equation is as simple as that.

Spin for india? i hope u have not talking about harbhajan. It should have been ashwin and ojha as the spinners for india in this wc. Its not that harbhajan lost his form just prior to this wc. His main job is to pick up wickets, since he is the one who is supposed to lead our spin attack and he has not been able to do that thing for the past one or two years atleast, if not more

ha ha northies are asking Ashwin to back up their useless spinner Bhajji..Why dont you take chawla..
Though we all will cheer for India and want to see the MIB emerge victorious, at the bottom of the heart we all know that we do not have the quality to bring back the cup. Pity we have fallen from the level of world champions when we won the T20 WC in 2007 to this nadir when the players are mostly the same. Lot of introspection is required.

if harbhajan can take pointing's wicket tommorrow then india can win easily. but the greatest danger in the team australia is "MIKE HUSSEY". and mike hussey can get only controlled by "MUNAFPATEL" as munaf is the only bowler in the world who can bowl like Glenn Mcgrath.... Budddy just give him some time....hell prove himself
Re: Re: WC

Munaf - that line and length idiot? HaHaHaHaHa! Shane Watson is perfectly capable to squash him like a rat. I hope Dhoni realizes when to use him.

you cannot play with one seamer my friend. its veruy difficult for the captain. i know that munaf is useless, nehra is not clicking. but have to got some pacers... all the best dhoni.

r u Tejas..we r not on mid..still long to go..i don't think so there is any competer in team then Munaf after zaheer...Nehra we know how lol he is and sriseenth king of flower of Run...Munaf is 2nd best bowler some times he exceed to Zaheer. Atleast Munaf so well that many austrlian will become tricky of bowling. Munaf is good stuff Man.

I agree...But still I think Its better to hav faith in Chawla rather than Nehra/Munaf/Sree...

you oollo ka paatttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttha. wht do you know about bowling...... munaf is next glenn mcgrath . you hv 2 gv hm time & chances.....just when he is in form...he blow the kangarooooooooooos
The above scenario is very unlikely however. India will surely field 7 batsmen. This is objectionable because the seventh batsman (Yusuf) has been utterly useless in the tournament. Raina may be tried but in case we see a repeatition of previous matches his uses will be few other than adding to India's bowling woes.

No..Bro..Raina is not the regular player of our WC 2011. Gambhir is although good.

Yusuf Pathan should be in X1..if we keep him out it will blunder and himalyan mistake..no need of lot of spinners...i will go same combination which we won all matches..rather then new combination. Shewag should in..in place of Raina thats it

Which combo you mean - the winning team which played against Netherlands and Ireland?
The two key things of the match. Australia has made elaborate plans to get Sehwag out the first ball itself exploiting his tendency to throw his bat at it during all matches in tournament. Cricinfo presented an article highlighting Sehwag's terrible record against Aussies (avg 22 against Ozs) and added to that he is Johnson's bunny (just like G Smith is Zak's bunny). Indian's should watch out for the powerplay. I want India to bat first, but more than that a slow turning track will do good to India's chances. Pakistan's overwhelming win over WI today proved that their flailing batting has derived confidence from super-bowling. The bowlers need to do the same, they need to bring out their best to get a result here. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Re: Sehwag and PowerPlay
by tejas shah on Mar 23, 2011 09:07 PM
you are right. but chances of india winning against aus are very little. i can only pray for that..
Any side for that matter should not lose too much sleep on BPP and think of it as an easy tool to accumulate extra runs. Dhoni is right that the best thing is to play it as the bowling power play . However one should not be all the time itching to take it ,especially when the going is good. Main thrust should be to pay out all the 50 overs. As regards other strategies, both India and Australia would like to bat first and put up a score of around 300.But there will be one diffrence. India's chances of successful chasing 300 will be better compared to the aussies for whom it will be very difficult. Further, India batting first must get a good start and play the first 10 overs including short balls patiently. While bowling, the spinners especially Bhajji must bowl to more attacking field than what we have seen so far. It is seen that any batting side comes under immense pressure in the middle overs when dot balls are bowled. So,dhoni must keep this in mind while setting the field. Bhajji-Ashwin-yuvi combo is likely to completely strangle the aussies if properly rotated.
Re: BHAJJJI-ASHWIN COMBO MUST CHEW THE AUSSIES
by French Cuisine on Mar 23, 2011 08:55 PM
Chawla is the natural complement to Bhajji since two off-spinners combo is a bit one-dimensional.

...it is a knock-out stage.one has to go by the proven performance and results of six league matches and not by theoretical assumptions.......

What about Yusuf Pathan's performance in the league stage?
