Good batsman against genuine pace bowling
by Alhad Sathe on Mar 24, 2011 01:16 AM  | Hide replies

Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni all have considerably lower batting averages against Australia than their career marks.

Only Sachin plays his best against Aussies. This is worriesome.

batting power play
by vinay on Mar 24, 2011 12:46 AM

y is it necessary for ind capt to take power play (pp) after 45 overs only when more than half the batsman r in the pavilion, with tailenders expected to make use of pp.
use it when u hv big hitters in the ground n u hv 6 to 7 wkts in hand.
any diverse opinion?

A good idea
by Tamil Indian on Mar 24, 2011 12:15 AM  | Hide replies

I saw a good idea on this forum yesterday. S/he said take the powerplay immediately after the bowling powerplay is over which is usually 15thover. By this way there is continuity. Team India seems to freeze when they start changing things.

This is what Ravi shastri said druing match against SA.IND were 137/2 in 15 overs and both Viru and Sachin were set as hell....
If we cud have taken pp and got 45-50 runs it wud mean 180 odd runs in 20 overs and just imagine the score at the end.. wud hv easily made 330 minimum

After the thrashing we receive by Australia ,don't worry fans everything will be forgotten . IPL will start in few weeks and Dhoni and Pathan will start hitting sixes against Domestic bowlers and we will all be fine again. And also everyone will be 100% fot by then including Irfan Pathan.

Can't wait for IPL to start becuase no matter which team wins there will be osme Indians in it.. LOL

so, statistics, logics are of no use. lets c who will be lucky tomorrow. unfortunate thing is, we indian waste our money and time in a game of luck rather than a game of skill.

Dhoni needs to get back to batting lessons
by Amit K on Mar 23, 2011 11:55 PM

Dhoni's recent style with the bat has been laughable. He is so reluctant in playing the shots as if he is a football player who has just been handed the bat. God (Sachin) save India.

If AUS wins tomorrow
by q q on Mar 23, 2011 11:55 PM  | Hide replies

These things will happen

1. Mohali stadium will be deserted; people will sell their tickets in black at half or quarter prices.

2. All the TRP ratings will be down for TV cricket chat/talk shows.

3. All the live-free streaming websites (teezcricket) etc will be underloaded and all the channels will be open.

4. Ad companies will with draw their ads from the channels.

5. Finally Sachin Tendulkar will announce his retirement soon after the man-of-the match award ceremony.

But after two weeks IPL-4 will start and people will forget everything and they will be watching Yusuf Pathan and Raina and Dhoni hitter sixers of Domestic bowlers. SHAME

Nothing to lose
by S Shrikanth on Mar 23, 2011 11:15 PM  | Hide replies

The teams which have come with "Nothing to lose" are performing well. Pakistan is one of them. In 2003 Team India had no pressure, and performed well. In 2007 they flopped under expectations.

India and Australia both are tremendous pressure. India is more as expectations and hypes are too much. If India wins this match, they can lift the cup.

Saying that india had no pressure during 2003 wc is wrong. Initially whn they lose to australia in the group stages of that wc, people back home damaged the houses of players, they attacked their relatives also.
Its only bcoz of ganguly's captaincy and the quality of the team that he has formed over the last two years then, helped india bounce back and enter the finals. But dhoni's team loses half the battle even before they enter the field bcoz of the wrong team selection. Harbhajan is not such an invaluable player, that he is unable to drop. Performance should be the only criteria for selection. Nothing else

Regrets Regrets!
by French Cuisine on Mar 23, 2011 10:50 PM  | Hide replies

I regret two things:
1. Those 10 powerplay overs against SAfrica. Had we beaten them we would face NZ confidently and a smooth road to the final
2. PK missing out on the tournament
If India looses tomorrow I will blame the former for being responsible. Pray to God that India wins.
Bonsoir!

Team India, already under huge pressure for playing a knockout match at home, would be under tremendous psychological pressure after Pak demolishing WI.

This noteworthy that Team India has never won a knockout world cup match at home in the last 2 occasions (1987 lost to Australia, 1996 lost to Sri Lanka).

Hope they ignore these distractions and play with fresh mind tomorrow.
