Dravid is a better batsman. Sourav is a better captain. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses. No point comparing.
Both are above average....having emphatically made their marks in international cricket.

agressiveness comes with good team behind. An agressive Zimbabwe or Kenya captain can do nothing 'cause they don't have good team as back up. Dravid is a complete player while dada was a bit and piecies player who can only score against weaker opponents. In present scenario India shld try Sehwag as captain now and shld dump dhoni as player.

hmm dravid is a comple plaer agreed....but a bit and pieces player will not score above 150 sixes in odis and more than 11000 runs in odis...he was never a good test player i agree...but in odi he is second to tendulkar

Mogu Engineers. Those who say that a captain is as good as the team 'do not' understand the power of leadership and Management. Ganguly was the best thing to happen to Indian cricket. Even better than Sachin. Because Sachin entertained us, where as Sourav saved us after Azhar had sold Indian cricket to the D gang.

Sree needs some guidance, probabaly proper coaching. Nehra to me is good in patches. With this attack i afraid whether we can move ahead of QF.

dear raj,
what is your problem. indian team playing cricket or indians watching it. if you do not like it leave it. you have been telling that people are being fooled but you such an intelligent guy has been wasting your time in this blog with us. you will be having hell lot of good works to do. go and do that.
you do not know what is cricket. dhoni had done a mistake and accepted it in the press meet. had ever sourav accepted his mistake. or does it mean that he never made a mistake.
remember in 2003 world cup in the midst of world cup he was making statements that he was second to none, he sacrificed his opening spot for team's cause this that and all.
is that good leadership qualities to speak about himself highly spoiling the morale of team particularly sachin because of whom we came to the finals.
have some sense and speak. dhoni has won many major tournaments in his short period and has been leading from the front.
sourav never led from the front. he captained the team because of dalmiya. after dalmiya automatically he was thrown out.
I have been interested in cricket for nearly 50 years. However, I had not found any quality in the cricketing standards over these days of the cricket teams. Occassionally there are a few players who due to their personal excellence in the game shine. Other wise, generally our players are never great batsmen, blowers or fielders. There is no commitment as well for our team. There is seldom any quality quick bowlers to mention. The quick bowlers selected are also inconsistent after one or two years and do not possess good physique for a long career. Purposely the BCCI prepares spinning tracks and avoid seaming ones in order to suit our players. Once got fame, our players prefer practicing for modeling and advertising only and pay little concentration in cricket as their place is secured. There is also BCCI/State cricket Associations' say and pressure in the selection. In my view the cricket players of the 70s are far better in technic than the players of the subsequent years. Even, I think that the winning of the 1983 world cup is just a fluke. In my view also a good team can never be moulded in India with so many politics in the BCCI, the influence of the politicians in governing the cricket Boards, the huge money spinning in this country for this game, money earned by players, etc.,. Here the BCCI is daring the Central Government. Unless the public like Egypt resolve to end the unethical practices here and shun away the game noting is going to happen.

Uncle, India were no good in the 70's. Criticze them as much as you like, they are far more competitive and entertaining than they were way back in 70's (wasn't born than, but being an avid cricket fan do a lot of reading)
Typical case of the older generation discouraging the youth at any available of opportunity...

And another thing... it is the big bosses of bcci who are corrupt. These dumbos are 70 to 80 years of age but are still greedy and corrupt. The older generation could have chosen to guide us and nurture indian cricket, but they chose otherwise.
So think twice before you write off the younger lot..atleast they are far more ambitious and have a promising future.

these days cricket is more a batters game which make it boring to watch. wat we need good wickets which suits bowlers as well (don't mind turners or bouncy wickets). moment in a match team score less than 225 they start criticising wicket. until and unless these is proper competition between bat and ball the interest in the game shall die.
What Dhoni is doing with Sreeshanth? I am not a fan of Sree but just see how visible is Dhoni's attitude towards him. Whenever he get a chance he is insulting the poor Sree. Dhoni's luck is running out. He is a captain luck by chance. Otherwise what quality does he hold to be a captian? Our cricket players are only interested in making money through ads. Dhoni is one of the worst captian and the best is Sauravdada. Afterall a bhaiya is always a bhaiya.

Rightly said Palani...Dhoni is a pure unethical captain, with no sporting spirits....This is shown as the indian squad does not have a specialised keeper to replace Dhoni...Why so...On his Injury who will keep the wickets for india...

no sreesanth should do some introspection himself..he has almost become another vinod kambli...maybe had kambli kept his head..he would have been captain and maybe still playing and we would have missed shorav the great.
