From an adventureous and maverick batsman who could turn the game on its head, he has become a nudger now. We cannot afford to have 3 similar batsmen in top 6 for one-dayers i.e. Gambhir, Kohli and Dhoni. This is hurting the team big time.
Very unliklely chance of India playing pakistan in this world. Pakistan is likely to end up 4th in Group A if Australia and Srilanka win their matches. Group B India can end up at any place. Most likely 2nd or place. So India play NZ in QF, and Pak play SA. India may reach SF but Pak no way against SA.

Mr.Vaidhya, Still u are beating around the Bush. I am not a great visionary like u to think that India will become superpoer in 3030. I just like in the present & take what it comes. I am not a fool to stone anybody's house that too for the game of cricket. But,that dosent prevent me from thinking for Indias success in the WC just like any other Indian. Only people like u are hero worshippers who cannot withstand even constructive critisim. In the England match, Sachin was forced to go for the shot in powerplays because of Yuvraj was finding form for struggling to get even run a ball with Dhoni talking a run in every two balls he faced. Against SA , Sachin was forced to hit because Gambhir was finding form with his less than run a ball knock. With such things, how can Sachin shoulder the responsibility….. Sachin should not go for the runs in the poweplays, but should stay as long as possible for the other players to hit runs and revolve around him. With this strategy, India can definitely pose good challenge against the real Cricket teams in the tournament Sri Lanka, Australia & a maverick team in Pakistan.

rahul you do not understand cricket. first learn some basics of cricket before posting. dhoni and yuvraj scored with 8 runrate per over even though it was sachin who should have played with that rate. you idiot please check how many balls dhoni faced and how many runs he made. dhoni made 31 runs in 25 balls. while sachin after making his first 40 runs in 24 balls made his next 71 runs in 77 balls. starting with 10 runs per over he went down to not even 6 runs per over. do you understand what you have written. please be sensible if you can. but perhaps that is hoping too much from you. you say sahcin should not go for runs in the powerplays so what should he do then? taaliyan bajana chahiye kya use? the set batsmen has to go for the runs not somebody who comes new to the crease. you idiot dhoni and yuvraj who were new to the crease still scored at 8 per over. sachin who was set was finding difficult to score even 6 runs per over. you say he should have stayed there as long as possible. he did not even do that. neither did he stay nor did he score runs. it was left to dhoni and yuvraj who made the score challening.

According to you, Dhoni scoring 12 of 10 balls (120% strike rate) during the last 10 overs is great than Sachin scoring 110 of 100 balls (110% strike rate) due to less strike rate. Great analysis. Then what about Dhoni got shieding under Harbhajhan, Zaheer,Nehra & munaf, Scoring 11 of 30 odd balls in the match against South Africa. Please really analyse the game properly..... I'm requesting really serious. I am definitely not arguing for the sake of arguing But, I too agree that tendulkar like any Indian other Indian batsman is a bad finisher.But, putting the blame entirely particularly these two WC games is ridiculous.

rahul bajaj, if you want absolve sachin of any blame or wrong doing and hold other players new to the crease as more blameworthy than sachin there is nothing left to argue. if you want to say that sachin should not make runs just hold his end, and let newcomer to the crease score fast and take advantage of powerplay it is very clear that you do not understand cricket and too blinded by sachin records and centuries. your eyes and brain has stopped working. you are a real joker when you say that sachin should not score and others should revolve around him. sachin neither scored runs in powerplay nor remained on the wicket. he just played irresponsible shots both times against england and against SA. even against minoows like ireland and netherlands he did nothing and once again it was yuvraj and dhoni who resocued indian time like they have been doing day in and day out. it has become like a boring routine to them come on the pitch and save india.

powerplay is taken so that the two set batsmen play fast without being irresponsible. no unnecessary risk taking and take singles or twos if no 4s or 6s coming. powerplay does not mean not taking singles or two and only hitting. powerplays are not meant for the two set batsmen to get out and leave the scoring for the incoming batsmen without giving them opportunity to get set. the powerplay is meant for the two set batsmen to increase run rate not get out and make the new batsmen to play fast without getting their eye in. sachin played one of the most irresponsible shot of his career. a man with 2 decades of experience of playing cricket and he does not know what is powerplay and how to play in it.

If you want to win the WC Remember 1. Batting is your strength. Play to your strength. If bat first, score in excess of 300 to compensate for the weak bowling and fielding. If bat second, bat sensibly. Don't panic. 2.Dhoni--don't play with the batting order. 3. Bowlers--Bowl wicket to wicket and don't give away easy runs. Bowl to your field 4.Fielders--Don't escort the the balls to the boundaries or don't wait for the ball to come to you. Saving runs will help in winning. Good Luck India!
