FIRST for Indias defeat due to Dhonis failure and secondly this irresponsible statement from Dhoni.

There has been lot of criticism of Indian team on this board. There are some superstitions about Sachin's 100. To some extent this criticism is justified. But we must accept the fact that this game of cricket is most unpredictable and has seen several unexpected upsets. Just imagine what is the reaction of Englishmen when they lost to Ireland and Bangladesh and lost one point to India. What is the reaction of Pakistanis when they lost to Newzealand and that of South Africa when they lost to England. Even Shrilanka lost one near won game with Pakistan. There has been collapse of batsmen in every game mentioned above and therefore it is only the performance of the day that matters. In 1983, as per the then existing formula we were almost out of contest when India was 17 for 5 against Zimbabwe.It was great Kapildev who salvaged the prestige of India by his unbeaten knock of 175. Even the final match that we won was with the low score of 181 which was hardly defend able against formidable team of West Indies but we still won. Same is the story with Pakistan when they picked the World Cup. They were also likely to be out of contest as they had lost good number of league matches and it is only on permutation and combination they qualified for QF. One should not be fatalist but luck also matters at certain stages. Let us hope that India will perform well and we all Indians will be happy at the final stage.

Yes, in 1992 Pakistan were almost out when they were all out for 64 against England and rains washed out the game. After then, it was all Imran Khan, Inzamam and Akram Story.

Raina should come in place of Kohli. Kohli is like Dravid. Not capable of slogging at end overs. Sreeshant should come in place of Munaf. Sreeshant is capable of taking wickets especially in end overs eventhough he is expensive.

Shree agression is good one. But the level as a bowler he is a beneficiar for against team .He might be good for mammoth cricket. Munaf is good bowler and rated second or equal to Zaheer khan even higher then him.
In SA match, coz of Gambhir, Sachin has gone for big shot and got out. After Sachin got out, again Gambhir has gone for big shot and got out immediately. Gambhir is also not good at fielding. He dropped catch and allowed 4 runs. It is better to play Raina for Gambhir.

Dhoni do not want Sachin to become man of the match... Whenever Sachin hits century, Dhoni will play wrongly.. Dhoni do not want seniors in his team.. He wants every player should bow down on his feet...

This selection means lot of sense 1st koli is waste if he comes after 35 overs and raina gives more bowling option 2nd sreeshant is atleast better death bowler then munaf,nehra sree is a gd fielder and t most imp thing sree is agressive atleast he goes in head of the batsman while sledging..And now on batting powerplay when sachin n sehwag was batting why they did not took the batting powerplay i dnt understand when team is 130 for no loss in 15 overs wit sehwag u know he is going to attack so why wait till 38th tak t powerplay after 15overs....And now on our captain M.S.Dhoni why he is complaining abt t other batsman when he itself was not putting any thought process when batting how can nehra n munaf survive against steyn he shld hav attackd rather then rotating the strike .... I hope Dhoni reads Kumble's column carefully. I do not think roles for different players have been identified. May be Dhoni is over confident about this team. If India ultimately qualifies for quarter final India will be having the weakest bowling attack. If the batsmen do not plan their roles properly India is heading for disaster.

Kumble is an Idiot. Just to fill columns and be on media page he is trying to put an unnecessary pressure on team India. Before that Gavaskars, Ravi Shashtris and India media has already put Team India under tremendous pressure which is killing the team performance.
Let Team do not get distracted by such stupids and play without pressure and win matches.

Even if he is sensible , but putting pressure on a struggling team is not good. Better he should had encouraged them, not to set such hypothetical fears.
The team is already under pressure of playing a tournament at home.
