Wake Up Dhoni - this is world cup
by S Satya on Mar 07, 2011 11:03 AM  | Hide replies

Dear Dhoni

You were not sure of your bowling attack, hence felt better to bowl and then chase any targt set by ireland. It is time, we have quality bowlers in the team, the less said better of piyush, harbajan, uncertain munaf bowling. Fielding needs lot to be done. I am sure, with stronger matches coming up, you need to have better bowling attack. Please taking cricket mad nation into consideration, kindly have quality bowling attack, even yesterday we were struggling at one point of time, had pathan or yuv were out at that stage, we would have been under terrible pressure

You are right, we don't have great bowling lineup...
But I am unable to understand the meanning of WAKE UP DHONI!
Is it Dhoni's fault, if we don't have great fast bowler in our side?
Captain's job is to utilize his team, what he has given and he can't produce team, that is a selectors job!

Dhoni is the guy , who decides in playing 11, he still wants to continue with 7 -4 batsman-bowler combination, so does he not want to wake up from ground reality???? why continue useless bowlers, when others are warmign seats in pavilion.

Don't try to make copy paste type views?
You mean that Sreesant (wastage), Nehra (Unfit) are in better position then Zaheer or Munnaf..

Just read teh mesg, i said he should not go with 7-4 combination, but with 6-5 combination. YOu have no choice but to choose among the 14 shortlisted, else i can suggest better players.

Main culprit is nautanki Harbhajan
by Cool Mahesh on Mar 07, 2011 10:55 AM  | Hide replies

He has not been performing of late. But he is still there in the team because he happens to be Dhobi's favourite. Everybody is blaming poor Piyush Chawla, but main culprit is nautanki Harbhajan Singh.

Somehow you are correct!
He may not look wicket taking bowler nowadays and not suited for Test matches, but still he is a best oneday bowler of team India.

Let's hope!
No doubt that Bhajji and Yuvi were the most telented batsman at one stage in their respective fields, but due to their non-cricketing activities and taken for granted attitude, they are in the team only because on unavailability of good back-up strength!

Yuvraj - Fit??
by Inzy Bhai on Mar 07, 2011 10:34 AM  | Hide replies

I don't understand how Yuvraj is saying that he is much fitter now. Yesterday while taking singles or two runs he was seen huffing & puffing profusely. He has put on an enormous amount of weight & looks stiff in the field. Many on this board are overly optimistic that India will reach the semi finals. I don't see this team going past the QF's & today a team like New Zealand might even thrash them. God forbid if they face Pakistan because they will be mauled beyond their wildest dreams. The famed Indian batting will be bamboozled by Afridi & co. which will be a terrible embarrassment for us. Allah in your mercy save Indian cricket!!!

Hello Inzy Bhai if yuvraj is not fit. He can't score two fifties continously with five wicket haul also. His fielding against england in the final moments is very good. ALthough is not good in field aslike olden days. He is also not very poor in the field. Definetely yuvi will play major part in the Indian team. That is no doubt u will realise soon. If India wins u put plaster to ur mouth.

Dont Worry Inzy bhai..Insalaah India will again beat Pakistan if they meet in Q.F or S.F...how they beat them in the all WC matches...Remember it India till date beat Pakistan in all WC encounters..either its a 50 over match or its a 20 over match... India beat NZ BY 5-0 in recent oneday series with Sachin,Swehag,Dhoni,Bhajji & Zaheer dintplay that series but with out them also India thrash them 5-0 & even WC practise match India beat NZ VERY BADLY..so Inzy bhai think about your Pakistani team..they just manage somehow 180 runs against minnows Canada & somehow won the match...so 1st see your team performances then lets talk about others...

Half baked DRS
by Ravi on Mar 07, 2011 10:34 AM  | Hide replies

There is no snicko meter, no hot spot but DRS system is in place. Add to this is the human intervention which means DRS system is open to errors and depending upon the individual umpire, same situation will have different decision as has been sen in two mateches involving India. If technology is to be used, use to fully leaving nothing to the on field umpires. DRS in its current format is error prone and may affect the outcome of the match as seen in the India - England tied match. If Bell had been out, as he was, outcome of the match would been India's win.

You would have not have said the same thing about UDRS if Bell was given out. But even if Bell was given out India would not have won because our bowling and fielding was pathetic. So stop this if's and but's business.

We are talking about DRS . Same situation in India Ireland match and the decision was in bowler's favour by another on field umpire. That is why I say DRs is not conclusive. If technology is to be used, use to fully with all ingrdients and do'nt let on field umpire's judgement come in the way. Otherwise do'nt use technology and rely only on on field umpires.

Indians have a habit of crying about everything. When on-field umpires were giving us out, Dhoni and Co was crying. When now one decision has gone against us in UDRS, Dhoni and Co are crying.

Actually UDRS, hot spot, etc were introduced when India was faced with Sydney fiasco in 2007. But the irony is that BCCI itslef made a huge hue and cry and then did not do anything to introduce UDRS, hot-spot, etc

Ravi:

:) Clearly you don't understand WHEN UDRS is conclusive and WHEN it has to refer decisions back to the on field umpires.

Just like Yuvi saying above and Dhoni preaching in the past, YOU too need to study it first... :)

Ravi:

The 2.5 metre rule has been there since Hawkeye was invented.

As to snicko and hot spot, that too was very clear BEFORE the world cup began that those technologies would come into play only after the QF stage.

So I can't understand why you are typing away as if the world suddenly became Anti-India in the past two matches? If you notice, EVERY other team is playing under the same rules, and NONE of them are cribbing and showing ignorance of the UDRS system....

BCCI must conduct a special course on UDRS
"What is UDRS? and how it works". Must be made mandatory for Yuvraj, Harbajan.
