bowling woes
by satya raut on Mar 01, 2011 07:30 PM  | Hide replies

well, Dale Steyn has hit the nail on the head , bad bowling and sloppy fielding allowed both teams to end the contest in a tie .
Wether , the tied /split points would affect the result in the latter stages is yet to be see .

Sorry Raut, I would give India credit for not losing heart and fighting back in the match. British were 282 for only 2 with enough overs left, and still India managed to chocke them !!

Dont you see this sir !

Whats wrong with this message ?

Absolutely correct. India is using the same bowlers since a year, and this time England played better with luck.

Also England bowlers were bad who could not restrict India within 300.

How about that?

Well said sir ! Anti India hate is going on here, without check by rediffmoderator, and if you write a pro-India message, it is disallowed...

As if people dont know this..huh...

by Rahim Baba on Mar 01, 2011 07:27 PM  | Hide replies

SO DID THE ENGLISH AS THEY ALLOWED INDIA TO HIT 338.

HAD BELL NOT ESCAPED AT 17 WHEN HE WAS OUT,INDIA WOULD HAVE WON HANDS DOWN.

IF INDIAN BOWLING WAS BAD, THEN SO WAS ENGLISH BOWLING.

WHY NO CRITICISM OF ENGLISH, IN FACT THEY PRAISE TO WIPE OUT SACHIN IMPACT ?

WOW YOU INDIAN ?!!!

AT THE TIME OF WORLD CUP SO MUCH HATE FOR HOME TEAM? SMELLS FISHY AS IT IS.

Rahim Baba:

:) What's really refreshing to note on the forum is that 100% of the bloggers have now given up the Pre-match "We'll trash the England B team" "These bunnies were trashed 1-6 by the weakest Australian team" etc...

Now we are back to nit-picking "Oh those Cheaters England.. Bell influenced the umpires".. If only we could have got him out we'd have won hands down .. etc..

Excellent... :)

reham karo baba, reham karo....
nobody is hating the indian team..... the fact remains that they stand exposed today... its a wake-up call, they have to improve the bowling and fielding...
criticism when taken positively results in success, isnt it?

Please Anand, aap rahem kijiye.

India hate is evident. Please go on cricinfo, read the comment on preview...it is one sided message, if you feel it is a positive comment, then I think Rahimbaba is right to smell a real fishyplate you are consuming..

India played bad, so did the English. If British played good, so did the Indianz who didnt allow British who were at one state 282 for 2.

This is my positive criticism to bolster the morale of my team.

You may have another method so carry one sir.

Majid Qureshi:

OK. You rightly pointed out that the British(??) batting is the best in the world today and our bowlers contained them more effectively than the British(??) bowlers whose performance was not that great becoz as we all know India is the weakest batting line up amongst all teams in the World Cup..

We do have a really solid bowling line up which can restrict even Bangladesh to a mere 283 (and if you like some more pepper - we bowled them out within 27 overs)..
This has been the second instance of magnificent bowling .. and we shall tirelessly move towards winning yet another world cup (our 9th in a row) and overshadow our 2003 performance... Self-denial is best... anything else is "India hate".. :)

ONE MAN ARMY OF THE ENGLISH SIDE ?
by damodaran mohan on Mar 01, 2011 07:23 PM  | Hide replies

Even the English were no better because except for Bresnen the remaining were even worse than India bowlers. In fact the entire English side appears to be one man army of Andrew Strauss.Any way we will know it soon in their next match with SA.Easily A/Stauss played one of the best innings ever in the one dayers. It was gem of an innings paced beautifully and meticulously planned with at least one or more four in each over. His innings completely overshadowed even Sachin's superb century.

Bangalore ground is always Indias graveyard. It was only because of Prasad srinath Kumble and Dravid that we won matches there as it was their home ground.

Strauss's inning looked better
because of Dhoni's defensive approach. Abundance single leaked
because of poor field placement.

Bowling was weak and fileding was weak
by S on Mar 01, 2011 07:17 PM

In this India vs England match, India started off with a "laid Back" attitude thinking that they have huge total and England would not reach it. Further the fielding was sluggish. many singles was let-off and couple of 4s could have been avoided. The Bowling had no "fire" in it. There was a mediocre performance. This had costed the match for us.
Last over was pathetic. I hope they buck-up for future matches.

Empire's decision v /s Hawk eye
by ALOK BHATTACHARYA on Mar 01, 2011 07:12 PM  | Hide replies

Can anyone explain how a batsman's fate is
decided, by empire's vision or hawk eye ? The fellow of ICC who introduced hawk eye in WC is a fool. Mr.Baldwin's decision may cost India
very dearly. Even batsman later said that ball
was hitting the stump but Baldwin thinking was
differently. Best solution is, not to display
hawk eye in the field as it may create serious
trouble. Situation would have been different,
has it been a India - Pakistan match.

We need sree back with some aggression. He might be hit for boundaries, but will take wicket. His aggression will help others to get some wicket.Indians were bowling without any body language on the other day till zaheer got a breakthrough.

BATTING IS INDIA'S CONCERN-NOT BOWLING:
by Srinivasan Renganathan on Mar 01, 2011 07:07 PM  | Hide replies

The best batting order presently is
1. Sewhag.
2. Tendulkar.
3. Virat Kolhi.
4. Raina or Gambhir.
5. Yusuf Pathan.
6. Dhoni.
7. Harbhajan.
8. Zaheer.
9. Ashwin.
10. Nehra.
11. Munaf or Sreesanth.

India should go with three pacers & two spinners along with part timers in Yusuf, Raina & Sewhag. The problem is India’s unpredictable batting line up and not bowling. Unless, we have 5 regular bowlers, we cannot win matches. Yuvraj & Chawla should be permanently shown the door. If the Indian top order batsman can show the guts/confidence and take responsibility with the freedom of having 5 regular bowlers in the lineup, India can do well in the World Cup.

In both Bangladesh / England match,
high score were posted means India's bowling is a serious problem. I don't think even five bowlers can contain run if wicket is not turning. So,India's option is to score near 400 runs. What Dhoni is doing with Pathan, he should get at least 25 overs. He settles quickly and scores fast. His place is fourth down.
