HARBHAJAN IS WASTING 50% OF AN OVER EVERY OVER
by damodaran mohan on Jun 23, 2011 04:46 PM  | Hide replies

Although India does have the edge but the match is delicately poised. Actually the Indian spinners could have bowled better and not allowed the partnership between the two lefties to set in who have added more than 50 runs for the fourth wicket. In fact the partnership is looking threatening and Dravid's all efforts might go waste the insipid way the spinners are bowling. It is ironical the WI coach says the wicket is suiting India spinners but Indian spinners are not able to take wickets ! Bhajji bowled mostly outside off-stump line to the two left handers.Out of six balls, three are left alone by the batsmen and so 50% of an over is wasted, right? Fourth gets blocked, fifth say hits his pad but outside the line of O-stump and so no LBW. The sixth one is either missed or cut for a four. Bhajji is happy with @2runs economy rate but what about taking wicket ? On a turning track why not bowl all six balls leg stump line to the two left handers and turn the ball from leg to off and make the two left handers make mistakes or get a leading edge etc ? Bhajji simply wasting 50% of an over is not acceptable. Mishra is bowling short too often. He should simply copy Bishoo, wicket would come on its own.

Neither Harbhajan nor Mishra can win this game for India. Harbhajan is totally negative, bowling too short and Mishra is not posing any real danger to the WI batsmen so far. The only way India can win is if WI throw this away or for the pacers to take wickets, otherwise they look set to score 326.
Time to look beyond Harbhajan. Though he has improved his batting quite a bit, his bowling in recent years has been pretty ordinary mostly, except in a few occasions. It is pity that even on helpful wicket as this, he is unable to take wickets.

People say he is lucky, people say team can win without Dhoni, Its so surprising to c so many people critising Dhoni.
* It has been almost four yrs now dat Dhoni is captain and he has almost won everythng a team can dream for.
* No-1 ODI Team
* No-1 Test Team
* 20-20 WC
* ODI WC
* Win in Pak
* Have beaten almost every team home and away, r v kidding guys, can v win so many matches nd series with luck.
* Twice IPL
* Champions league
* Till now most succesful IPL team with not so great players by d way, team like Delhi/Bangalore/Mumbai always had better player but Dhoni with ok ok player made it almost unbeatable.
* He is getting so much praise and respect from across the globe players current and past, can v get all these by luck.
* He may not as classy players as other but he is sucesful and thats what matter.
* Look at Nadal, he never look like winning because of his style of play but he is on verge of becoming all time great.

Sachin on Dhoni........
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 23, 2011 12:13 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni is the best captain I have played under. He is very sharp and always alert. He reads the situation well and is open to sharing ideas. He always has discussions with bowlers, batsmen and senior players separately,Sachin Tendulkar, speaking 2 days after the world cup win, rated Dhoni as the best captain he has ever played under.
"One more good thing is he is always calm and never shows his frustration. These are some of the human qualities which have made him such a good captain. He is a fantastic captain"

See Gambhir... he had hidden his major injury to play in IPL.. When IPL was over, he out with an injury while playing for nation.. See Raina.. he was involved in bookie dealings... Take examples of any players, they will come out with the scandals..
So let us watch cricket as a fun and not seriously.

why everybody blaming dhoni.
by kalyan sundar on Jun 23, 2011 11:29 AM  | Hide replies

dhoni is a lucky captain and also a gutsy one , have u people seen how sachin captained, even for that matter when he has been given full responsibility of leading mumbai indian's he still committ the same type of mistakes and his style is just quite old type, we all admire sachin, sourav, laxman and the great wall dravid, but they have, except laxman led india one or other time and never came out with lot of success. Dhoni is some how blessed and most of the time innovative decisions, for the time being no one is challeging him captaincy front, he may face failure, but it has not to be forgotten that he has brought glory to the indian cricket, he is very much successful in all versions, and india has not seen such a gutsy captain before. In recent interview former coach gary kirsten has spoken dhoni's captaincy skill in high regards, and further there is no need of people's openion when the statistics say that he in infact great ever captain of india.

Please note that India win ODI series in W.I raina was captain. Last yr gambhir was captain against NZL ODI & India won series 5-0. Gammbhir scored two century also in that series. Against SLK odi series dhobiji rested in 2 inning- sehwag was captain. India won both match comfortably & sehwag scored well also. It means India won 11 out of 13 ODI with any captain (dhoni was rested). What does it prove.
Whe your team is good & better than opposition- u will win always irrespective of who tom, dick & harry is the captain

Kalyan ur data is not correct.
1) Laxman was never a captain
2)During sachin captaincy, india had weakest team
3)During ganguly captaincy india won many series as we had good team
4)During dravid captaincy also India did very well in test-
India win series in WI after 30 yrs (that also when lara, gyle etc playing)
India win test series in England after 20 yrs (flintoff & all playing).
India win 1st ever test in SA.
No captain has achieved so many test win overseas in such a short time.
India win continous 18 ODI chasing -which still a world record. Excpet for debacle in 2007 Wcup (luck also din't favour due to format), india did pretty well under dravid captaincy.
Please note that dravid made century also in WI & England series when india win it.
Hence he was not a captain but performing player also.
Now under dhoni if india is winning- dhoni contribution with bat in any overseas test win is nil.
Also last two series against SA & SLK we couldn;t win the series under dhoni captaincy. It was draw only. In both series dhoni failed with bat also.
So this dhoni is simply a flat track bulley & big manipulator who knows how to manage media, BCCI & add agency. his cricketing ability is no where near any worldclass player.
So stop hyping of this captaincy.

with young and new players only dhoni has first own his 20-20 world cup, and later on only he has been assigned with captaincy of one-day's and tests.
have you seen the celebration after india won the world cup. sachin was treated as god, and all players were found enjoying and respecting other success, what more anybody can ask for.

Fact remains playing on overseas pitch(bouncy) is not dhobiji cup of tea.
It is against weakest bowling attack of WI.
Imagine dhoni facing marshal, roberts, holding, donald, pollack, mcgrath,ambrose, walsh, akram etc on overseas pitch.
It was delight for any break dance reality show.
I wish we could watch it live.

Great Dravid
by ASHISH KUMAR on Jun 23, 2011 10:49 AM  | Hide replies

sachin , dravid & laxman are the most honest & patriotic player.
Every overseas test win courtsey these players along with bowlers.
Dravid will win this test. Last 3 series won due to brialliance of sachin/laxman batting.
Dravid & laxman was insulted by same dhoni & cut short their desrving ODI career by playing regional politics. Stll when they play test under politicain dhoni, they give 100% & always help in winning india even though that credit is eaten by politician dhoni.
Even dhoni remarked silly thing agaisnt sachin in aus triangular series. still he give his 100% under political captain & ensure india become no.1.
Player like ganguly/dhoni start under performing the moment thier captaincy is removed. It is due to lack of ability & political nature

mr. ashish kumar, i really appriciate yours concerns, but the thrimurthi's, and the legends some how could not able to win when they were captains. believe me they have huge respect for dhoni, and similarly dhoni has also got hugh respect for the 3 legends, it is very much true that, at leaset one has to score high for winning a match be it in overseas or in india, but the fact is dhoni name for skipper had been recommended by Tendulkar himself, what ever the records may suggest, dhoni has managed to keep all the players together and composed, and fact of the matter is he is winning tests, onedays, 20-20's, what more can you ask for.

no great player needs any guiding. This guiding/leader ship ability works only in MP/MLA election. Thats why most of dhoni supporters are political minded persons. I have hardly seen any genuine sports lover a big fan of politician dhoni.
Player like maradona, pele,sachin, brdaman, lara,mcgrath, warne, akram, etc no need guiding of any captain but they guie thier captain with their performance.
But yes any captain need to desrve his place in team first as a player.
