Selectors and management planned poorly for this WI tour
by Nikhil Shah on Jun 22, 2011 11:12 PM

The selectors missed out on proper trials to be conducted for youngsters.

The future Test prospects were

Murali, Mukund, Pujara, Tiwari, Rohit and Rahane

The future ODI prospects were

Shikhar, Mukund, Kohli, Raina, Yusuf and Rohit

The selection of the final 11 for the ODIs and Tests were mixed up. Mukund never played a single ODI, Kohli and Riana were tried out in Tests ahead of Tiwari, Pujara and Rahane.

The pace of Varun Aoran was also something the selectors should have considered along with Umesh Yadav as future Test bowlers.

The win-loss results should not matter considering this tour more as an experiment but the problem of mixing up ODIs and Tests is bad for the players future.

to West Indies to fix this test match. We had seen how our jokers were doing dance and song yesterday. Now ICC president should take charge and fix this series. Don't know why impotent Dravid & Laxman is doing in WI. May be playing pocket billiards.

JUST THINK
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Jun 21, 2011 05:25 PM  | Hide replies

The way you got out is foolish. It was second ball.normally you should play first four balls on merit and try to score by cricketing shots .it is in the fifth and sixth ball you try to get single, in case you fail, the tail-ender should try a single in the over to follow -not hit the ball .When will you guys learn ? You took a single in the first ball asking Praveen to face five balls promptly he got out .Expecting Parveen ,Mishra and Ishant to play is just down right stupid it is not T20 where every guy including the gardener and groundsman can hit

i think the trick that works is the one that looks good. Maybe his plan was to give strike to praveen so that he can hit some quick boundaries. praveen is not known to defend, so probably the plan was raina will hold his end let praveen go for runs. its all in the midst of action, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt.

This is Why Sachin is more than Team India
Ask a random passer by, what would you ideally want from Team India?
A non fanatic might say World cup .
A fanatic might say No1 Test status and world cup.
A girl newbie fanatic might say T20 world cup.

And if you ask them why?
Answer: It will make Indians proud. A non-fanatic might not even know
for how many years we have a world cup.All they know is its a big cup
and it will make us proud.

Why are these important anyways? We gave a world cup champion for
every 4 years. T20 chapmions for every 2 years. Constant doubts over
our No1 status and might not hold onto it for more than 2 years.

20 years down the lane, whats so great about winning 2 world cups
(1983,2011) out of 10 world cups so far and almost most of the countries
will have the similar record.Whats so great about winning 2011 world cup?
Indian are champions from 2011-2015. And that too if we loose 5-2 to Aus or
SA, we cant even call them champions for 4 years.
