Darren Sammy plz stop giving excuses
by mandar borwankar on Jun 13, 2011 02:39 PM

Indian team drawn the test series against SA and nearly won the ODI series against them. All matches there were played on fast and bouncy pitches and Dale Steyn's bowling was deadly.Sammy please don't blame pitch for your team's poor performance.Ur team can't play spin properly. Please admit that Indian team played excellently against you inspite of absence of senior players. It's like "Naach na jane angan teda".I wonder what will happen to WI team when they face Aus and SA top class fast bowlers.Chris Gayle and Pollard were in the World Cup squad but they did not perform when their team needed the most. They are only top performers in IPL and T20.I am proud that present second string of Indian team is winning matches from pressure situations.

It's so ridiculous to write that BCCI is responsible for all the misdoings of Pakistani cricketers and Gayle's absense in WI team. People who cannot manage their teams will always look for excueses. If BCCI can fix matches and players at international level then they would not have had Pakistan as oppposite team in World cup semi finals. It's agreed that BCCI is richer and stronger than any other cricket body but it will remain so only till that time the team India is winning. It's simple logic. Any where in the world people watch game as long as their team is winning.

BCCI/ICC with all its powers is still a very small force. Remember, match fixing in Italian football league was busted some years ago where some of the best (and the highest earning, much higher than ANY cricketer) players in the world play, and clubs like Juventus are as rich (if not more) as BCCI.

If India had to lose, they would have lost in the super six, at least in that case there would have been a few more matches involving India, and more money from television. Losing in the first round was a dead loss. as interest of the tournament greatly reduced and no one was there to watch the matches (and the advertisements between overs)

And why will any India cricketer will do fixing ? They earn much more than the cricketers from any other country and not to mention the endorsements. If you are caught, you will loose everything, too big risk to take for a few crore rupees, which could be earned anyway from a couple of endorsements.

MY FRIEND YOU ARE NOT GETTING ME

BY FIXING A FIRST ROUND EXIT (AFTER BEING RUNNERS-UP IN THE LAST TIME), THERE IS LOT OF REVENUE GENERATED IN LUMPSUM THROUGH SUCH FIXES (SO REVENUE THROUGH ADS BETWEEN THE OVERS, ETC, DOESN'T COUNT)

DON'T BE SURPRISED IF SUCH THINGS HAPPEN IN NEXT WORLD CUP (AUSTRALIA 2015), AS ANYHOW INDIA FIND IT DIFFICULT PLAYING THERE.

AND REGARDING INDIAN PLAYERS INVOLVED IN FIXING... MY FRIEND AGAIN YOU ARE NOT GETTING ME HERE... THEY ARE NOT AT ALL REQUIRED TO INVOLVE INDIVIDUALLY, THEY HAVE TO JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN BY BOARD (HOW TO PLAY), THAT'S IT. SO THEIR ENDORSEMENTS, COMMITMENTS ARE NOT HARMED. IN FACT, THAT IS HOW YOUR BOARD SUGARCOATS THEIR PLAYERS, BY ASKING THEM TO FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS AND THEN SATISFYING THEM TO INDULGE IN ENDORSEMENTS AND EARN MONEY ON THEIR OWN.

IN THE PAST, INDIANS WERE ALSO INVOLVED IN FIXING (DID YOU FORGET), THAT TIME THE CORPORATE FIXING WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH
