WI tour
by Viswanathan on Jun 10, 2011 09:44 PM

While the newcomers in batting can prove their mettle to press their issue for permanent berths in the team the bowling attack is definitely weakened by the absence of zaheer.
All this have haoppened because of the foolishness of BCCI as they are keen to conduct IPl rather than giving importance to preserving the team india position as the top most team in tests. WI may be a weak team but we should not underestimate any team.

happy for praveen kumar
by Sunil Vaidya on Jun 10, 2011 07:55 PM  | Hide replies

I am happy that praveen kumar finally got a chance in the test series.

i was sad to see him being regarded as only a specialist odi bowler.

i think he will prove a good test bowler too...

even in his debut odi series he helped us win the tri series in aus and was MOM in the best of 3 finals...

I am not sure if he is test material at all. Seems to be a pure new ball bowler.

That being said, he probably would be better in Eng than in WI from a test point of view

In an age where we lack quality bowlers , why would the surprise be UNPLEASANT ?

because people like you want to run down players and are happy if your prediction comes good and the player fails.

as you dont think praveen kumar is good and you rather wish that he fails and what you think as a bowler comes true, naturally if he succeeds it would be an (un)pleasant surprise for you.

unpleasant --read--unexpected--read shock that you are proved wrong...

just like you were (un)pleasantly surprised when sachin admitted that dhoni is the best captain he played under and the current team the best he played with, both things i had said before sachin said and you did not agree. so when sachin said that it meant that he agreed with my views which came as a (un)pleasant surprise for you...

Maybe you need a psychiatric evaluation real quick.

So what you are saying is that because I don't consider Praveen to be a good test bowler, I wouldn't be pleased if he does well in TESTS ? WOW , SIMPLY WOW. Well, I responded to you because I felt that you finally grew a brain. But alas you are still the same old GADAIYA

And now you come back to sachin v/s dhoni. How did you come to the conclusion that it was a nasty surprise to me. This sachin hate will consume your insipid life.

sameer GADAIYA, it is like i thought. you people are beyond redemption. the last few messages you had started to talk somewhat decently. but here again you are back to your bad old ways....

sameer, people like you, LG, senthil, ashish kumar, against pseudos etc. are and always will remain cricket ignoramuses. you will never ever see sense and blind sachin worship and blind dhoni hate will never ever allow you to see reason. you will never ever be able to see dhoni's good qualities and you will never ever be able to see sachin's shortcomings, weaknesses and deficiencies. you people think sachin is perfect. you dont know how far away you people are from the truth...

LG has left the scene since sachin said dhoni is the best captain he played under and current indian team the best he played with. to hear from sachin's mouth praise for dhoni is simply unbearable for him.

senthil does not show his face here anymore.

pseudo has stopped his visits since i am always proved correct and he is always proved wrong. since dhoni and india's rise and australia and ponting's fall he has become depressed and disturbed.

ashish kumar has finally lost it. i thought amongst all of you LG was craziest but ashish kumar has finally over taken him.

and sameer, you are not ready to get out of your santaji dahanaji syndrome...

you five people get hammered from me always and yet still come back to get hammered some more...

sameer GADAIYA, blind sachin love and blind dhoni hate is going to consume the whole lives of you 5 people. forever you all are going to reamin restless and continue having anxiety attacks and will constantly need reassurances from each other that your dream world which is falling apart is actually in good condition.

you 5 people really have unconditional love for sachin and unconditional hate for dhoni.

you 5 people are going to love sachin no matter what. he does not have to do ANYTHING (not that he does much anyway) you people will forever remain his slaves.

you 5 people are going to hate dhoni no matter what. however well he may perform, however incredible performance he may keep giving, taking fortunes of indian cricket higher and higher, you people will never ever get satisfied. you people will forever go on writing nonsense about him.

Very True. I always liked praveen's bowling. He might be medium pace, but has good variety and above all he is a smart cricketer and often outthinks the batsmen.

Agree with you. Varun Aaron or Sreenath Aravid instead of Mithun would have given more balance to the pace attack

Zaheer & Sreesanth ti miss test series in Windies
by Sachin Kindalkar on Jun 10, 2011 07:37 PM  | Hide replies

Wasn't it a great opportunity to re-call back Irfan Pathan in the Indian Side for the Windies test series as there is no left arm pace bowler in the test squad. Praveen Kumar will not be effective on the slow and dead low pitches in the test series. Praveen will be good option in New Zealand or the forthcoming England series....both in test and ODI's. Abhimanyu Mithun is a good choice as he has pace and bounce.

I second your thought. I would pick Irfan as an all rounder in all forms. Praveen unfortunately is too slow to play as a specialist test bowler.

Yes.. it was a right time to bring in Irfan Pathan, who has the qualities of a all rounder in making but needs some time to adjust after a long break.... selectors should have given him a chance.

Irfan is a lost cause. IF you still don't see it, its probably time for you to visit an eye and ear specialist

What a funny name for Cricket body
by SK on Jun 10, 2011 07:36 PM  | Hide replies

'Board of Control for Cricket in India'!

All other cricket boards keep it very simple, like 'Cricket Australia', 'Sri Lanka Cricket', PCB etc.

And funny that cricket is at it's uncontrolled best, in India, presided over by the 'Board of Control of Cricket in India'

I hope our IPL fans dont question the omission of Srikanth Wagh, Sreenath Aravind, Varun Aaron..Selectors have done right..the only confusion is why drop Mithun for SA tour and pick Unadkat and now go back to Mithun..though Mithun was dropped for no fault of his after the SL tour where he toiled hard. Good Luck.
