sachin-the Icon of indian cricket
by subhash phadkar on Jun 03, 2011 05:13 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin is one of the best players in the world, but as a captain he is a big failure. In recently concluded IPL matches sachin's inabilty to lead his team to a final goal is exposed again.MI lost going in to the finals because of poor leadership quality and lack of decisions making ability of sachin. The owners of MI may think of changing the captain of MI next season for these reasons. Some other teams have taken the bold step in taking that decision changing their captains for beter performance. After all paying so much money to hire these players the franchises will not be happy with a medeocre performances of their team..No body can be as competent as MSD is-the very cool captain of the Indian cricket team, but then lack of common sence displayed by sachin in leading his team cannot be ignored for long.

If he can play on merit & scores runs, how should any one call for his retirement? All talk of retirement should only come when he does not score.

Let him play cricket as long as he keeps accumulating runs and records for himself. It does not matter if the country loses. In any case, BCCI does not dare to omit him from Indian side except when he himself does not want to play. He has not lost of enthusiasm, energy, skill and will to play cricket for a few more years.

Let us play God Almighty to give him a long life and a long cricketing career, may be up to 50 years or more. He will have yet another personal record then for the longest cricket playing person on the earth!

Tendulkar-the Icon of Indian Cricket
by subhash phadkar on Jun 03, 2011 04:58 PM  | Hide replies

All that is said and done about this great Indian Icon of Indian Cricket, one thing that has eluded him is the skill of captaincy. He is a very poor captain India has ever produced.Sachin's very pedestrian captaincy was exposed in the recently concluded IPL matches. The owners of the Mumbai Indians remained invisible during couple of last IPL matches that M.I.played including the last elimination match that they played against RCB in chennai, which MI could have easily won had sachin shown some maturity in taking some vital decisions which went wrong. The temperament which sachin shows while batting is not seen when he is leading his team on the field. He gets excited and loses his calm. Not a sign of a good leader.MI owners may consider giving the responsibility of MI team to some other person as has been done by some other team owners of the IPL.After all the money that is paid for hiring all these players is not for a charity. As a player sachin is the master of the game not as a team leader.

I think you need a psychiatric treatment, you lack insight in to your life. Hopefully some one will pick you up to the government mental health institution at some point, whatever the discussion in simple terms seems not helping you, so you need A-V tools, if that does not work then you need ECT

SRT is of his own class, no one can replace him
by ramamurthy on Jun 03, 2011 04:55 PM  | Hide replies

Graham Gooch played until late 40's. I read an article by cricket guru 'J Boycott' stating he love cherishing sachin play as he has all the shots of text book cricket. BBC said its hard to imagine cricket without Sachin. He is the true ambossador of game. Probably its time to ignore few fools on this board make comment for the sake of response from others. Just enjoy cricket played by greats like sachin, dravid and laxman. They are of their own league, no one can fill their place as long as they play

true lover of game will certainly love Sachin. But a true indian would too, for making us all proud [ although he is'nt even a bit proud of all his achievements ]. I dread to think of the day when he will retire. I dread to think of indian test team without sachin/dravid/laxman.
